Okay, if you hate or love nickelback, you must hear this. A musician in canada kept hearing both the songs 'How you remind me' and 'Someday' by nickelback on the radio. He couldnt help noticing the similarities between the two songs. If you hummed one song over the other they had the same beat. So he went to his recording studio on his PC, and put both songs together. He was amazed to find that both songs WERE THE SAME! He passed on a recording of them together to his friends which played one song in the left speaker, one in the right. He put it on his website to show his friends in california, and somehow it got spread all over the internet. He said he is happy for word getting out so that people know they are getting ripped off.

Okay, before you listen, he said he tweeked the songs by a few seconds in some parts, but that was only to show how the chorus, verses ect mached almost perfectly together.

Also, I like the song "How you remind me", but this has honestly lost me all respect for nickelback. I know bands can produce songs similar to eachother, but this is insane. They could even be sued for copying themselves!

Anyway, heres the link. (http://www.milkandcookies.com/links/32342/) Click under "Two nickelback songs" written in red. I couldnt put down the link directly because there is part of it thats filtered. Guess which part:rolleyes:

After the popularity, he matched 'How you remind me' with songs by other artists, including one by Avril Lavine. I dont think she copied them, but its amazing the similarities. This link is an interview, you'll have to fast foward to around the 3/4 mark to hear a clip of the 2 songs together: Here (http://www.npr.org/templates/story/story.php?storyId=4258547)

No not the same lyrics (although probably the same basic ideas of them), just the melodies ect. If they ran out of ideas, thats sad because they havent been around long. Many bands are out for decades and dont repeat a song.

LMAO.
I've always really disliked Nickelback >_> and this just takes the biscuit.
Seriously I wonder how long they actually thought they'd get away with that.
With them together you can notice how similar they are.
I think its like really bad because it shows how much actual dedication they put into putting a song together; nada.

I actually liked how you remind me, good song, never liked their other stuff though. I dont think they did it on purpose, but did it without relizing it. Like tried to do the same style, but it came out the same. Its still cheap whether they ment to do it or not. And with the second link I put down, fast foward to about the 6:07 mark. It plays how you remind me with an avril lavine song and they sound the same.

I've heard this thing before, but it doesn't make me lose respect for NB. I'm not a particular fan of their music, but it doesn't make me hate them. I mean (I know it's not on the same level) most of AC/DC's songs are just three chords played at different rhythms. Compare the riffs to AC/DC's Whole Lotta Rosie and Let There Be Rock. Almost exactly the same, except Rosie is written in A instead of E. And also, a huge similarity for AC/DC is the riffs to TNT and Dirty Deeds Done Dirt Cheap.

Repetitiveness isn't necesarily bad.
