why does it say freewebs -.-'

Dripless
23-10-2005, 02:59 PM
I understand it. It's a simple form html code. There is probably a javascript file that tells the form what to do. Check the <Head> section of the page. If it has something like <script src="http://www.habbohotel.co.uk/somegaything.js"> that would be it.

Unfortuantly. Not everything works like that form you use. Or someone else does on a simplistic freewebs server.

I think he's trying to say, the vote's don't actually count.

So habbo decide the outcome. Not the people who voted.

The people who voted didn't actually vote at all in the eyes of Habbo, they just clicked a button and got the fuzzy feeling inside that they might get their favourite rare. Poor noobs.

Theres a differance between forms and polls ;\

Hmm, and the form wouldn't show an email address. Forms and polls USED to, but now clicking submit with a visible address will act as a mailto: function. Forms have to be done in php, don't they, in which you can hide email addresses.

THERE IS! IT IS HIDDEN! To put it quite frankly, if there was a visible email address that your browser can pick up on the form, it would act as a mailto: function. The form uses php, which allows the email address to be hidden, and it can be retrieved, but because it is php, we cannot see what it is doing!

Do some research on php and how to use php in forms please. I must agree with dannyboymed - your posts are becoming very tiresome.

Barmi
23-10-2005, 04:46 PM
It IS written in php. Php is a server side script, and it "creates" the html, if you like, based on the user's computer. When you view the source of a php page, it will look just like html. You cannot see the php, because it has created the html. Look at some tutorials on the web.

Yourhabbo's competition system is built similar to this so this how I know.

Indeed. It's like the poll on a forum. If it is submitted, it is sent to a database. It would be silly sending it to an email address, because they could not possibly count the votes. It's then displayed as a set of poll results would. It's a bog standard poll, so why did he start questioning it? Such an idiot.

No, it is a proper poll... the votes are taken in... the staff can view these votes like any other poll...

Whether or not they choose to release a rare based upon these results is up to them, as we cannot know which rare truly came 1st in the poll, as we cannot see the results, unless the staff allow us to in a future newsie.
