Help installing Vb Forum :)

Hi

Im installing a Vb forum for my mates site.

And it keeps comming up with

Configuration: includes/config.php does not exist. Please fill out the data in config.php.new and rename it to config.php


But i have done all that.

Can any who i can trust install it for me ?

All they need to do is stop that bit comming up and i can do the rest from there.

Ive got onto the install bit now but it comes up with this on step 2

The database has failed to connect because you do not have permission to connect to the server. Please confirm the values entered in the 'includes/config.php' file.

you need to change your config.php file.

make sure you made the mysql databases

after that
in config.php:

$config['Database']['dbname'] = 'db here';


$config['MasterServer']['username'] = 'user here';
$config['MasterServer']['password'] = 'pass here';


and re load

Ive done all that and it still comes up

then check your info and try again

that means the password you have entered is wrong or the permissions for the database table are incorrect.

did u make sure u added ur hosting prefix example habbox_vbulletin

DONT let anyone install it for you, i did that and they got my address and phone number and started threatening me

when you upload config.php it sometimes renames itself again, rename it again once youve uploaded it.

You have to rename config.php.new to config.php

When i want to add a mod or a admin is comes with this:

Sorry, this user is protected from being altered in the config.php file by the $config['SpecialUsers']['undeletableusers'] variable.

What do i have to put to stop it comming up

remember when you edited your config file to add root admin to it (user id 1 2 3 or name 1 cal aaron etc) a bit in that file means these are uneditable users, so the other admin cant delete you... go to the config file and take these people out (then reupload), make them admin, change them all you like, then re add them(then reupload).

Are you installing it on your site, but using his MySQL? Or are you setting it up on his site and using your MySQL?

MySQL doesn't let you use it from other sites, thats why it might be not letting you use it.

u put the user number ur trying to edit in the undeltetable users part in config go in config and delete all user numbers from undeletable part
