You could get a Peavey one,
There a good size, amplify well
and are cheap. I have a fender amp,
a cheapo peavey one and one of them
mini-ones you carry around. My Fender one
was quite expensive, My Peavey one was cheap
I think and the mini-ones just rock. I love them the best <3

I recommend a Crate.

Don't worry about getting a huge amp. I play through a Boss pre-amp and hook it up to a Marshall stack. But if you play live you can just hook up your little 15watt amp to the PA system.

A good cheap amp is the Roland Cube 15. It's only £80 and for those of us who don't have a distortion pedal (I do but I don't have one of these fellas ^^) it has 4 overdrive options.

Heres a few:

Marshall (although with your budget i dnt no if you'll be able to get a decent one)
Roland (theres are quite cool, but are still quite expensive)
Fender (theres are nice amps, and not too expensive)

The lead guitarist in my band has a Fender Strat and he plays a 20watt Roland amp but he got it cheap off a friend for £25.
Maybe you could go on ebay, heres a link:
