Everybody has their flaws, but magazines, posters and billboards are putting too much pressure on females to believe it's wrong to have the flaws that make us each unique!

When the summer approaches, I become frustrated that I don't have the year-round tan, clear skin and flawless figure to flaunt on the beach or at the pool, the expectations are just too high, and I know it gets alot of teenage girls down!

In the 60's, before the days of retouching and fake-tans, it was the fashion to have the 'real' figure, curves and imperfections, but now it seems to be the opposite, if you don't have the glossy hair and sunbaked skin, you suddenly feel a rank lower than the girls who do.

In this day, depression in teenagers is higher than ever, I think the pressure to be attractive is a large part of that, aswell as hormones and schooling.

If you don't believe your pretty, it doesn't mean your not worthy enough to have your shoulders back and a smile on your face, everyone is worthy of confidence, because whether your beauty is hidden or clear, it's there somewhere, and you should believe it!

I always feel pressured and it gets me down a lot, as soph said if you don't look good you get the mick taken out of you, i personaly hate my looks and i hate my body and definatly hate my size. I always feel like i'm not good enough and as you said, a rank below the other girls, it's so annoying. -sigh- =[ also it's always the perfect looking, good tan, good size girls getting b/fs, i'm always the lonely one..

I always feel pressured, not because of my body. Because of my hair! Ahh it makes me jealous looking at lovely gorgeous straight hair :'( Yeah, mines straight, but it flicks out. :( lol yeah its only hair but gr it is so annoying!

I agree with what you are saying. And it is because all of these 'beautiful' women and their photoshopped magazines. Guys expect their girlfriends to look the same, otherwise they aren't worth looking at at all.

Me? Hell, I don't care what my girlfriend looks like. Yes, she is actually beautiful by todays standards, but I seriously don't care. She doesn't try to look beautiful, she doesn't use lots of makeup etc. That's one of the reasons why I was attracted to her in the first place. Guys need to start seeing what's inside, and girls need to start having more confidence in themselves. People are too shallow.

Well what I hate when girls say "All the guys think if you arent pretty then you cant be their girlfriend". WHY WOULD YOU WANT A GUY THAT THINKS LIKE THAT IN THE FIRST PLACE? There are guys who dont think like that, find one of them, dont find one of the jerks and get all upset when they dont like you.

There is a bit of pressure durring the summer for guys to suc.k in our guts:p , but it doesnt get to us as much as women.
