the actors were given instructions by the director to go to the certain part of the woods..then they would find a piece of paper syaing what they would have to do next (ie: act out on camera)...the director would sometimes tell the actors somethign and then do something else to them...so some of the reactions we see on screen are actually real...

of course there was the whole internet/tv post-production campain saying it as real etc so some ppl were bound to believe it was true....

I watched it when I was like 10-11 (whenever it came out, I was that old when I watched it :s).
I found it iffy then but I havn't watched it since, I'd like to see what I think of it now :)

Im not gonna vote. I heard nothing of it being true or nothing of it being false. I've seen the film and the end of it creeped me out abit.. And all the symbols in the woods.. But its quite a good film ^^

Maybe someone wanted to give away a free video camera and also die at the same time?

Well tis BASED on a true story. What we see in the film, thats actors. the blair witch didn't really get them... but, as someone said before, the actors didn't really have a clue what was going to happen, there wasn't really any scripts so some of the reactiond are real. I think it was really well done. It was different. Heather, the main girl. She wasn't your stereotypical female for a horror movie. I mean usually they just run around screaming and are in full make up 24/7 but in that one scene heathers got snot bubbling out her nose shes crying so much.
