^ Is Habbox Crumbeling? ^

Before we discuss anything, I think we as members have the right to discuss this as its a shared environment which we all chat in.

I for one think that from the amount of really good staff that have resigned recently, Habbox may fade.

Also, the amount of people on here who have been banned recently is odd :s
Does Habbox need to think about there primary members more? Does Habbox need to unfold on its tight disciplinary? Does Habbox need to look at what there members want instead of banning original people for petty reasons to?

Lets discuss this matter and see the outcome for what people think and want in there Habbox environment.
Try to keep abuse to others low, this thread should be considered a answer to the primary causes and questions asked.

I haven't been here that long (and I probably won't be after this) but friends and people I know are always talking about being banned here...
And for what? To make the moderators, admins and staff look superior? To reassure themselves that they can stop people straight up for questioning them?
So that you all know, I know Mentor. Yeah, he got banned permanant-like. "Offending staff" is a pretty ridiculous excuse for simply ****ing off someone. And from reading the 'Goodbye from Mentor' topic here, its pretty obvious that he was a well-respected member and that the authority here is struggling to get their heads through the door.
On other forums (and this is where I promoteThybag (http://www.thybag.co.uk/forum)), banning is only done when a member goes seriously overboard on the spamming thing. Yes, I'm a member of Thybag. Have been for well over a year now. And it simply has to be said, it has one of the best communities and the staff really know how to do their jobs (and I'm not being biased in any way, despite being a mod there). On Mentor's forum (he owns Thybag) I don't see people being banned for stupid things. Warnings, yes. Maybe a temporary ban if things get too out of hand. But in my time there I don't think I've seen anybody be banned.
So stick that in your pipe and smoke it Habbox.

I haven't been here long enough to say, I s'pose. But I was going through the rules.......how many rules is it possible to have? I'm starting to think that this place is more of a prison than a forum. And that the members here are treading a very thin line and could get pushed off at any point (banned).
I don't care if I'm questioning the authority here. I'm just making my point, which is that the banning issues here are out of control.
Seems to me that the rules are a contract. If I had the need, I would read them. And as Mentor said, he followed the rules to a T.
I advise people to join Thybag. More relaxed, less uptight, and considerably more random. At least there you say what you want and debate with the staff and no fear the legendary 'banning' message that so many people have seen.

The banning is getting out of hand. I looked at a thread and saw the amount of people who were banned and tbh it's absolutely pathetic. Some of the super mods/admins need to think before banning people. Habbox has lost its sparkle about ten months to a year ago when i was a little habbo wannabee it was amazing. I sat in HxHD and when I got rec'd it was like amazing i was so happy! Its Boring Thats all It used to Be better abouta Month ago or so its Just started to be more boring ect, As in threads and that, But you cant Say habbox is crumbling because A Few members left , Your Only saying its crumbling becasue Love pandad did,

Personally I think its ridiculous, all these people being banned. And if you look at the announcements, its quite funny seeing how many people left/got fired in the last two or three days.
My friend Mentor got banned, 'cos he got on that prat Sierks nerves. I don't see anywhere in the rules 'Dont **** off Sierk'. And thats a permanent ban too.

The reason for why I made this thread was because there were many recent bannings and departures from Habbox that it seemed odd :s

Aslong as Habbox has it's userbase it won't fail. It's impossible...

The bigger they come, the harder they fall, No fansite is permently great, one example over at my 'scene' The Dugout (http://www.thedugout.net)

This site was as big as any site got over a tmy 'scene' this site would of got 5million hits in a year, Habbox has been runnning for 2-3 years now?

Now its probably not even in the top 10 best sites, rarely gets updated, fabase has left to bigger and better sites. And why was this? Because the staff went over the top with bannings.

Whats wrong with abit of banter, its what makes the site, ok Habbox gets ALOT of banter compared to over my scene, but thats because most of the members on here are alot less mature, the avarage age on this site seems to be about 9:rolleyes:

But lokoing through some of these posts, from what I hear some of the most respected people all over habbo (Even I remember people like jrh and DJ-3000) have been baned for what swearing? REmember no fanbase is permenent and Habbox is lucky it dosent have another rival that isnt a stand alone forum.

And on that not ill leave you with this quote, it seems to fit perfectly with this discusion, the warning signs are here, cahnge before its too late....



I think the one thing that has annoyed me over the last while (it's been a few months since our last scene review I think) is all the talk of sites merging, un-merging, merging again, staff changes and general corporate talk. We've been guilty of it for such a long time ourselves actually and I'm trying to make sure that we move away from that.

The game we cover is meant to be just that - a game. And games are meant to have a fun element to them. So why aren't the fansites the same? I don't know. Perhaps there is this level of responsibility and of being in a position of authority that gets in the way of realising what you are actually meant to get across with your site.

Well i think its going down hill the reason i was fired today was because i was being rude to staff and forum members. The worst thing i probably said today was...*drum roll* DIPSTICK! so you no thats the reality of Habbox now adays.
Also my messenger account has been frozen by the idiot tasha and JackHB seems to think thats perfectly ok, that some1 has mucked up my msn account is that the sort of person who should be help running habbox, i really dont think so. what a shambles it is with the likes of rupsie working there.
