QUOTE Good morning viewer. It’s a lovely day, the sun is shining, the birds are singing. But DO NOT turn on your TV, not even to check the weather report or listen to music. For something horrible is making a comeback to our screens, something cruel, fearful and twisted. Even more so than ‘How Clean is Your House?’. And this, my dear viewers, is daytime television.
This entertainment atrocity is slowly seeping in through our aerials, crawling through the elements to plague our mornings with talk shows, cartoons, bargain programmes and D.I.Y horrors. This evil will take over our futures forever, manipulating the world with its catchy theme tunes and flashing images.
Before you discard this warning, my viewer, please let us tell you about Sarah. That’s her picture above. She’s a little cutie, isn’t she? Or should we say ... she was. Until that fateful day when her innocence and childish charm was stolen by television.
Sarah was feeling ill, and her mother let her take the day of school to take her to the doctors. But the doctors were soon to have something much more serious than a common cold to treat, as poor, vulnerable Sarah reached for the remote control and slowly sealed her fate.
She was gone, engulfed in the horrors of ‘Tricia’ as her mother dropped the phone and ran to stop her daughter. But her actions were not enough. Sarah was no longer the sweet child she had once been.
For now, as Sarah sits next to the milkshake machine at McDonalds regretting that terrible day that made her a bargain addict, we hope that we have shown you the true horror that this early television brings.
As a political party, our aim is to TURN OFF daytime TV and help spare more children like Sarah from wasting their lives away from a cruel addiction that cannot be cured. If you sign the petition on www.anti-daytime-rubbish.com we can stop television channels from showing these horrific pieces of entertainment, and for an extra £20 on top we can fund more protests and buy ourselves milkshakes.
Think of Sarah, think of the children being brainwashed. Please, stop the wrath of daytime TV and help us help your children’s futures.
Help us turn Daytime TV off.....forever!
Hewo Habbox folk....
Do you hate those endless bargain programmes? The never-ending list of DIY shows? Have the terrors of cheap gameshows, western movies and 'heartbreaking' talk shows become too much for you?
For our english project (campaigning), me and a friend created the Anti-Daytime TV Campaign. We've been slaving for weeks over every last leaflet, badge, poster and sim movie, and at last we did the campaign in class, showing the movie to 70-odd peoples. Now its our task to get as many signitures as we can...
Which is where you lot come in! Come on, theres over 100 active members on this forum, surely some of you can spare the time to sign the petition? Read the above extract (a draft of my leaflet), you can see how well-thought out this all was....
We're aiming for 300 signitures - 200 of which need to come from you guys. So far, we only have 60 from our school, whereas another team have over 200 already.
So help us pass!
