I would like a debate Forum :p. It would have to be closely moderated (if it was opened) and I think there would have to be restrictions on topics, maybe they could be set by Moderators of the Forum, or agreed with the Moderators before the debate takes place..

EDIT: I just checked out the debate rules and guidelines in the debate Forum, they look pretty well written, maybe you could PM Spectate or maybe sierk will read this.

I mean, you could have 2 subforums that link off the Debate forum... Serious Debating and fun debating... Of course Moderators can watch closely for any swearing or things getting out of control.

yerh, i was gonna say, at the moment that forum is pretty pointless being locked...

The discussions forum could be broken down into sub-forums, like say...
"Debates" + "Discussions"

Debates are for people part of a special usergroup
Discussions can be for everyone.
The debates could maybe have the exception of swearing, as i'm pretty sure, people have strong opinions about certain things, and if they like debating, it could help them at school. -shrugs-

Yes, such as hmmm maybe english debate about certain stuff, i had a english essay speech and neeed to debate on a certain topic i picked, that forum would of helped me ;]

The point is that we need to organise a motion and what-not, and have it at a time where there would be some people available to supervise.
