Probs wrong place to put this but hey-ho.
I want to get limewire. But i've heard it gives virus's [sp?]
And im not sure if i should get it or not.
Does it give a virus or does it depend on what you download?

I think it has spyware, though it was ok when I had it. Just don't download anything illegal from it.
If you want a P2P program i suggest Shareaza [google it.], it connects to Gnutella1, 2 and eDonkey servers.
It takes a bit of configuring with your firewall/NAT router so you will need to know a bit about that:)
If it's music you're after use Napster, you have to pay but it's legal! Cheap, though.
I'm not sure about other p2p programs without spyware, but i'm pretty sure limewire and kazzaa have some.

Every system has got its viruses, it depends how well you know whats, what.
Limewire, used by millions, its always rated and its lasted for quite a long time, so its a good choice to go with :)

Most systems have spyware, even if it's undetected on your ad-aware or w/e.And same with viruses to be honest
And properclone,Im geussing she wants to download music from Limewire which is illegal anyway, seeing as she's getting it the illegal way :)

Limewire doesnt give viruses on install (not that mcafee/AVG or BitDefender have seen).
It's just that when your trying to download, most files are viruses (most viruses are under 900kb/180kb if their meant to be music/movie files.) >: (
Although Limewire tells you if the file your downloading is corrupted,
sometimes.. it lets you down -_-' (bad experience, trust me).
So please, get an anti-virus/anti-spyware program installed beforehand (AVG/BitDef).
I've never had any bad experiences from Limewire.
Ares was pretty good aswell.
One to steer clear of ; Kazaa, riddled with spyware/adware that one.
I have Limewire pro.. so thats better but yeah ; you can never be certain

Peer to Peer Are Dangerous and Your Downloads Can be Tracked (not lying)
99% of Music / Vids / Programs On there are Ilegal
Bittorrents don't really give u virus's or spyware , still ilegal but safer!

Just look out for what you're downloading. For example, if you're downloading a music file, and the file extension is .EXE, it's pretty obvious, or if there's a rejected result, for example all the files are in the 3MB mark and one is 800KB, it's pretty obvious you don't download it.

Limewire can be dangerous yet so can any P2P ( Peer 2 Peer )
Some files can contain spyware mainly .Zip .Rar files
And some nasty people place trojans tracking cookies, Worms, Virus's, Downloaders, Keyloggers.
This is why you should scan with these programs before you extract or open any downloaded files.
Webroot Spyware Scanner

Charliie i think it may depend on what you download because one of my friends has limewire and she hasn't got any viruses and she checks her computer all the time but my cousin who checks her computer every night got alot of viruses from it. I used to use it and it didn't get any viruses on my computer. Just keep running your virus checker every night and you should be fine. Also don't download anything that you think may be dangerous.
