Theres no other melee besides rune that stands beside the best range armour which is green dragonhide... Mages only got robes :)

Well, You can not tell people what is the best armour. It depends on who you are fighting and how. As I was never P2P, I can't help.

Melee is mostly rune based, Although people like to add items like green vambs, Wizard hat, Anti fire shield to help them out.
Ill sum it up but you can edit this loasd
Rune - Full rune
Range - Full Green dragon hide
Mage - Monk bottoms, Wizard hat, Wizard top

these 3 all of better defense bonus's but you have to pay to recharge them kind of like crystal bow and crystal shield
i personally think full dragon(32m - 34m) is better because you dont have to pay to recharge it and it likes the best
in free world
people use a combonation of full rune with dragn vambraces so they can get that mage protectection, while still having the melee and ranger protection
as rangers you might see them with a full helm on thus protected them from melee a tad
and finally magers have no shot at wereing anything else because they can't were rune or other melee armour as it will lower there mage bonus's :) hope this helped :)

best armour for melee is rune but if u go pking make sure to were green vambs as ur glove :)

And a mix of the rubbish mage clothes- Mage
