Her name was Lauren. We'd lived as roomates when I was younger, but then I had been stupid and fallen in love with Kaytee, and she had fallen in love with me too and just after we had met, we were married. I'd lived with Lauren and all my friends. I'd fancied all of them (Well not the lads, obviously) But had got over them. But Lauren was different, and she was beautiful. I knew I was in love, but I couldn't do anything about it now, because I was engaged to Kaytee.
Pretty soon after we were married. I wouldn't go as far as to say happy. Lauren had a boyfriend. He was french and had the most ridiculous name 'Pong'. I couldn't bear to see it. So I asked Kaytee if we could move away, and raise a family. She was more than happy and we were in our new cottage the next day. It was a beautiful cottage, but everytime we had a reunion with our friends and Lauren came, she had brought Pong with her.
I couldn't take it anymore and when Kaytee was at work, I invited Lauren down and told her how strongly I felt for her. Our faces went so close I knew a kiss was coming. So I shook my head and told her it was wrong. I would always love her but cheating was just sick. I told her to leave and Lauren just gave me the goegeousest smile ever and said...
"I gave you your chance"
And left...

I didn't see her for a while. I didn't know whether I should call or not. Then, me and Kaytee had a child, Elizabeth. I knew that Kaytee was happy, but I was far from it. I knew me and Kaytee weren't going to last long and I couldn't give her a child. How could I be there for it? How could I teach it to be kind and considerate when I couldn't be kind and considerate to Kaytee! When one night, me and Kaytee were watching television and she took my hands and told me that she knew our relationship was for real.
"I want to be with you all my life" She said to me and kissed me. The next day we took Elizabeth to the park. There was Lauren, she was staring at me and was with all our friends we used to live with, Kaytee ran over to say hello and started to plan a party... I didn't want to go to the party! I wanted to stay away from Lauren... I HAD TO STAY AWAY FROM HER!

So the party went on. I sat on the sofa miserably. I wasn't going to get myself drunk, So I just slurped my can of coke on the sofa. Then my best friend Cal came over and offered me a beer.
"CALLUM! You haven't stopped looking at Laurens butt since the party started! Are you hiding something?"
"No-No I'm not... I was looking at the floor not Laurens butt."
"Who'd blame you... It's a good un!"
"CAL! Your married to Sally!"
"Chill! I'm window shopping."
I know I shouldn't of, but I accepted Cals beer... and I can't remember except...

I woke up the next morning. In a strange place. I walked around slowly adapting to this strange place, had I moved house, where was I? All of a sudden the doorhandle turned and the bedroom door opened. Lauren was in a towel and she kissed me.
"Hey..."
I looked stricken
"Don't worry. Kaytee doesn't know! Just get home to her now and your marriage is safe..."

I couldn't believe it!

"Oh please. Pong's nothing compared to you"
And she pushed me against the wall (Still in just a dressing gown) and passionately kissed me. I slapped her.
"WHAT ARE YOU DOING? ME AND KAYTEE ARE TOGETHER!"
"But are you in love?"
"Uhm... Uhm... YES I LOVE KAYTEE SHE'S MINE!"
"Well last night you were mine. Come on Callum, marriage is never perfect." She kissed me again "Callum I've liked you for a long time this is my dream. Please Callum. Kaytee will never find out!"
I kissed Lauren and pushed her on the bed and we shared a couple of hours together. Then I realised I had to get back to Kaytee but I couldn't break away from Lauren.
"Go home Callum. See Kaytee. But I will see you in one hour at the Dining centre Downtown."
We kissed at the door and laughed as I fell over. I walked away. Panting
What was I going to say to Kaytee?
How could I explain myself this time?
I remembered my fling with Kaylynn, our maid once. It was easy then. It happend when Kaytee was on a work trip and the beer was getting to me. But this WASN'T a fling. This was real boyfriend and girlfriend business behind Kaytee's back. This was a love affair. I couldn't go back to the house So i turned the wrong corner towards Downtown. I'd buy something classy and get seriously dressed up. I'd take Lauren back to mine and time it perfectly when Kaytee was at work so we could spend the entire time kissing in front of our favourite TV program. It couldn't lead to more though. Obviously, It had happened once and wasn't too happen again! This would go no further than kissing. When I bought my suit I turned towards the ladies stuff. I wondered if they'd have any flowers I could buy Lauren, before I broke the news that we couldn't sleep together anymore, When I felt some slender hands on my waist and the whispering in my ear of "Heya sweetie whatcha doing here?"
It was Kaytee
"KAYTEE! Oh my goodness" I kissed her. It was hard to believe those same lips had kissed lauren before. I felt guilty.
"I'm just doing a little shopping..."
"Are those flowers for me! Wow Callum your a serious romantic! And that suit! That's adorable. Come on, I was thinking of going to the Dining Centre for lunch I'm feeling rich! Come on we can spend hours there. I'm working at 5 til 2am today and I've got all my sleep! Come on It'll be fun."
O-Oh I walked into the dining centre and lauren was there-Man she looked gorgeous, filing her nails. She looked glad to see me and came up and was about to touch my lips when Kaytee walked round the corner...

Me and Lauren were still in a cling, lips almost touching.
"Wow... You 2 look happy to see each other!" She said
"Were just great friends!" Said Lauren uneasily, nervously laughing. We broke from our clinch.
"Kaytee don't have your doubts please, your the only one for me." I kissed her on the cheek and we went to be seated, Lauren was left stood there, I saw the tears trickle down her cheeks as she ran into the garden.
"I better see whats wrong. Order for me Kay?"
"The Chicken Salad?"
"You know me best my love :)"
I ran to the garden and Lauren was on the swings, head drooping.
"Lauren- please"
"I can't believe you brought her! Callum!"
"Yes i know, I had plans too. She just showed up and wanted to have some dinner and I didn't know what to say, I promise I didn't do this to hurt you! I'd never want to hurt you Lauren" Our lips gently bumped together and I noticed Kaytee coming
"I better get back to Kaytee! Come on, you go get yourself sorted in the ladies eh?"
"Yeah... I love you!"
"I love you too"
"Sweetie... That wasn't directed at me was it?"
I swivelled around. Kaytee was there.

Kaytee stormed out before I could stop her.

Oh great now what was I too do? I'd just lost my wife! Where was I going to go! I couldn't go home! I saw Lauren in the other direction and I went to see her.
"Hey honey, what happened you look awful!"
"Thanks... Uhm, Yeah me and Kaytee just broke up"
"Wha? You, You broke up with her so we could be together! Honey I didn't want you to do that! By the looks of her I thought she'd found out about us."
I looked blankly.
"Urgh! I'd be so mad if she'd found out before youd told her, Oh I'm so glad you told!" She wrapped her arms around my neck and kissed me passionately
"Whats wrong honey, you seem tense" She said holding me closer and kissing me until I could barely breathe.
"Oh nothing... It's just, Kaytee..."
"Everyone has to go through a breakup once. I've still got to tell Pong, Man speaking of which, I better go see him now he sent me a text message, I'll call you later eh?" She kissed me an ran off, she looked so happy, how could I tell her I hadn't told Kaytee. She said herself she would be mad.
A couple of days later I went to apologize to Kaytee. I didn't want her to forgive me, me and Lauren were together now, nothing could tear us apart. I just wanted her to know how sorry I was that she had to find out that way. I knocked and Kaytee didn't answer. I overlooked our lovely thatched roof cottage, When Elizabeth was born this had been her home. Elizabeth now lives with Kaytee. I don't see her anymore :( Me and Lauren are hoping to have children some day. I walked into the house remembering I still had my key I walked in to find Kaytee and Pong making love on the sofa. I walked out and walked back in again. I couldn't take it in!

"CALLUM... Why are you here?" She said, looking up from the sofa, leaving a stunned Pong.
"I came to apologize. I can see your busy"
"It's a little late for that. I've moved on!" She looked at Pong.
"You and Pong. Are together?"
"Never!" She said sarcastically "But then again, I'll bet you've got people on your sofa all the time. Especially when we were MARRIED."
"It was only Lauren."
"What about KAYLYNN. Don't think I didn't know she was there that week I went away. And I don't think she got paid overtime."
"Kaytee please, that was a fling! I promise. It never happened more than once. I was lonely. Kaylynn was there so I asked her if she'd like to stay to watch some movies. And the next thing I knew we were kissing and... you know whats next."
"I didn't WANT TO thankyou very much" Her eyes filled with tears "You lied to me TWICE. You lied to me about Kaylynn. You lied to me about Lauren. Now I'm wondering if you lied to me when you said you loved me."
"No Kaytee never. Look I have to get back home soon. Do you want my apology or not"
"NO. Now leave! Please. I'm going to get dressed"
"I CAN'T BELIEVE YOU" Yelled Pong when she had gone. "I'D WANTED THAT WOMAN ALL MY LIFE. I WAS ONLY WITH LAUREN TO GET CLOSER TO HER AND YOU TOOK HER FOR GRANTED. I CAME OVER TO TELL HER HOW I FELT AND IT WAS GOING GREAT! YOU SAW! AND THEN YOU COME IN AND YOU SPOILT IT."
"I'm sorry dude."
"Sorry's not good enough! You've just ruined me and Kaytee's only chance of a relationship. She was over you until you come in and ruin her life ONCE MORE. I want to be with Kaytee. I love her OK? So just BACK OFF"
I left with the flowers. To go back home.

I held the flowers and dropped them in a gutter. If only me and Kaytee could be friends again. She could be with Pong I wouldn't care, it's our friendship I care about. I've done a terrible thing and I know it. I sit on the pavement, head in hands, wondering what I could do. I felt some hands on my shoulders.
"Guess who?"
I did guess. Too clearly. The last person I wanted to see right now. Kaylynn
"Whats up?"
"Oh nothing. Nothing you'd like to know about. Just leave me alone."
"Callum. That night together meant nothing at all."
"I don't want to talk about our fling right now."
"Ok..." There was a long silence "Was I good"
"KAYLYNN. Our fling was wrong. We were wrong. I wish I'd never hired you. I wish you'd just leave me alone!"
"Well forgive me for caring. Look I'm gonna head home. If our fling meant that little too you then I guess this baby will-" She gasped and covered her mouth.
"Baby? BABY?"
"Strange how things come out so easily"
"YOUR PREGNANT"
She smiled "Erm... Popcorn?" She said holding out a bag of popcorn
"KAYLYNN. WHEN WERE YOU PLANNING TO TELL ME?"
"I wasn't. My boyfriends happy, he thinks it's his but it isn't."
"It's mine?"
"Definite"
"why did you come here today. WHY? My lifes already bad enough"
"Look. I saw you on the pavement in tears what else could I do"
