Well Firstly.

Do you have a graphical program E.g Photoshop, Paint shop pro?

If not www.Adobe.co.uk and www.corel.com

Download the trials.

Then read my HTML/CSS guide after you've created the layout in your program.

Then to code it properly i suggest taking around 2 hours coding it properly as it's your first time read www.Slicingguide.com I know it's long but believe me it's better than coding it stupidly and then as you become more better at HTML you could code it in more CSS.

Need any more help feel free to PM me as loads of people are doing at the moment :)
