Bullying and fights..

On my way home from school today 3 lads passed me, and they asked me "you know josh cope yeah? the gay 1" so i replied no i only know a straight Josh cope" and they said "na m8 na hes gay like you" so i said say it again, so they did. 1 of the boys (out of the 3) came on to me so obviously started ( if i had turned away i would have most probs have been jumped so i didnt risk it) So obviously another lad joined in while 1 watched and i was prety much beat up. was kinda my own fault in a way but i dont like people speaking badly of my friends, aswell as the fact they were being homopmobic which also ticked me off. What do you guys think of the situation ? ( dont flame at me for fighting back was just sticking up for myself)
Ended up with a black eye, both sides of my nose bleeding (still) a realy soar nose and a fat lip, a lump on my head coulda been worse i supose..

Me and my mates go round helping out kids that are being bullied, but sometimes we take it too far e.g. in the past I got into this fight with a year 11er last year because he was being a total *REMOVED* and it got kinda ungly.
