View Full Version : They try to label us...

They try to label us, but they try in vain. We are label-less. We are not popular. But we are social. We are not outcasts. But we stand apart. We are not intelligent. We are deep. We are not silly, we are free. The only thing we have in common with them are the masks we wear. But ours are darker. Ours are sliced in half. Like our wrists. Like our hearts. They call us punks, or Goths, or simply freaks. Because of the things we do the clothes we wear. Our self-mutilation. Done by knife or needle or ink. It doesn’t matter. To them it’s just a game. If they get game-over, they can start again. To us it’s simply life. To us, game over is the only escape. Yet, at the same time, game over is the cowardly way, and we scorn, spit on it till our tainted saliva seeps through the false fabric. All these little things we do. Like piercing our bodies. Like tainting our skin. Like giving our bodies freely to those that we think care. These little things we do. Like pulling the knife across our skin and watching the blood well up over the skin and overflow, spilling....

Not trying to offend anyone here or anything, but it's typical, and not to mention depressing.
People who drape themselves in black and buy a black/blue hair dye kit from the pharmacy don't suffer anymore that the person who has their natural hair colour, and wears pastel blue blouses.

That was only expressing feelings....

Now, it seems to me your being stereotypical there my good friend. Your comment made about everybody suffering is true, but with someone like Ben you have to be sympathetic, his life may be a bit on the rocks at the minute but you don't just tell people that it's not worth being depressed over.
This is meant for Pulchritudinous btw, not you Benji.

It doesn't look like your expressing your feelings, you used 'us' in the title, not 'me.
Um, I have a friend who self harms, depsite the fact she has a loving family, friends offering support, a roof over her head and clothes to wear, I give her support, but when she has no significant reason to be depressing, it's frustrating because what she is doing is selfish.
I have another friend who found out she is going to die young, has been physically suffering her whole life and yet she appreciates everything and the only time blood has poured from her wrists is when she has had tubes inserted into her veins to get medicine into her blood stream, and I don't know anyone else who has a smile on her face as often as her.
All I'm trying to say is, I don't like seeing people depressing themselves over trivial things, I don't know you or your state so I never claimed that you have nothing to depress over and wasn't trying to offend you or upset you, I'm talking about this whole 'emo, goth, punk' trend, it's ridiculous.

Well, what can I say, some people are really selfish. But their life is their decision, I know that is a really stupid and childish thing to say but I guess its true.
Plus, that article isnt about me, its about some people, about what they do and what they feel.
