Just an interesting fact I read on BBC News:

7. One in 16.66 Britons (6% of the population) is homosexual according to new government figures.

Its a bit higher than David Brent claimed in The Office, when he said 1 in 10.

Lower don't you mean? Somone said to me once that it's 1 in 7 people are gay, whatever, that means that like a billion people are worldwide, the population would decrease alot.

Well technically you're correct.

But likewise, if you took 170 it would be likely that 8 to 12 of them were homosexual.

And its only a statistic guys and girls, dont start a petition...

Actually if you want to moan, lets change it. 16 out of 17 people are heterosexual.

about the black thing, i wouldnt be suprised - many communities are going about trying to make some multi-cultural society.. did you hear that within the police force, black people are more likely to get a promotion than white people? its supposed to show equality.. yeh..

and back onto the issue of gay people, its not a very useful statistic, but whatever the case, with issues like this being raised can only create awareness of the increasing gay community, be thankful.

There are more boys than girls on this forum. Oh god, am I sexist?! No, it's just a statistic...

And yes, gay people are different. Everybody is different. Some are girls, some are boys, some are 16 years old, some are gays, some are bi, some are straight, some are black, some are chinese, some are Canadians... It's just a fact. I'm not racist, I'm not sexist and I'm not homophobic. I am just stating facts, and so is the government.

I dont see that it matters myself, you should take people as they are, not because of their sexuality, race, colour, dress or shirt size they are, but im sure in some weird way the government thinks it helps......
