Newb question

I've been playing for a year and a half but i don't know the answer to this..

If i raise defence, would meh combat level go up?

I'm thinking of making getting range up on meh pure wc xD

Yes it goes up the same as if you done attack or str and also range would make the cb go up aswell

Lol, i know but i'm raising all the skills which i can make all the stuff for range right now, And i've always fancied being a ranger lol.
