So I bought the Sin City Special Edition DVD the other night and was really pleased with it. Everything I expect from a Rodriguez DVD was on there including the 15 Minute Cooking School and this time it was how to make breakfast tacos which I'm trying to talk my roommate into cooking since he's the cook. Then there's a ten minute sped up version of the movie which is all in green screen which is pretty cool to watch. Listening to Frank Miller gush about how happy he was with this project and how he's excited to go in and do it again made me happy... cause hearing other people gush about seeing their baby go into another medium perfectly makes me happy for some reason. And then well... the other selling point for me was the inclusion of "The Hard Goodbye" graphic novel with the DVD.
And then I rented "Last Days" the other night which my girlfriend already saw and told me it was a bad bad movie. We're both big Kurt Cobain fans and even though she said she hated it I still had some hope I'd like it. But meh... I was disappointed. I found myself fast fowarding through most the movie and the only good points in it were Kim Gordan saying to the main character what I'm sure she wish she could've told Kurt when he was still alive... that and the performance of the song "Death to Birth". Everything else was pretty much stereotypical junkie actions and yah... not a good movie. Although I did laugh when he's making cereal and the milk is sitting open on the counter, he gets his cereal, pours the milk, and then puts the cereal back in the fridge leaving the milk to sit out.
