Music channel + magazine Kerrang have organised a list of the 50 top rock songs this year. but i could only be bothered to remember the top 10 :eusa_ange
Just missing out on 10th spot was HIM - wings of a butterfly
10. Justin Hawkins - This town aint big enough
9. My chemical Romance - Im not ok (I promise)
8. The Darkness - One way ticket (to hell and back)
7. Kings of leon - Four kicks
6. White Stripes - Blue orchid
5. Weezer - Beverly Hills
4. The Killers - Somebody told me
3. Foo Fighters - Best of you
2. Green day - Wake me up (When september ends)
1. Stereophonics - Dakota
i haven't a clue how they compiled that list, as i wouldn't of put Stereophonics at number 1 to be honest. it is a great song, but not the best of the year :s.
I think the min winner of that list is Justin hawkins, as he got in there 2wice, solo + with his band, the darkness.
Hopefully 2006 will bring just as much good music. :)

Whos #1? Im slow, never heard of that song. Green Day should be in the pop section, either that or the bad section. Can sombody please kill 'Best of you". Better yet, kill anyone who likes that song, so many good FF songs, but they chose the worst one as the best. Speaking of Kill, that killers song actually wasent bad to start, but people butchered it, now its poo. Weezer is okay, but didnt like that song. White Stripes, hell yeah, but there were a few better songs on that CD, like "The Denial Twist", but blue orchid was okay. Have never heard of the rest, sorry.

Greenday are soo mainstream now -chokez-
And people start listening to their new stuff thinking it's such hard Rock/Punk.
And that Wake me up song is played wayy too much, beyond belief.

Out of them, Blue Orchid is the biggest "Rock banger" as such.

9. My chemical Romance - Im not ok (I promise) - ****e
8. The Darkness - One way ticket (to hell and back) - WOW ****e
7. Kings of leon - Four kicks - Wow it's not the 60s...seriously.
6. White Stripes - Blue orchid - Good
5. Weezer - Beverly Hills - Good, older stuff is wayyyy better

1. Stereophonics - Dakota - Best song out of a rather **** list. It's a good song.
I prefer rap/hiphop but I do like the White stripes. Their beats on some songs are quite phenomenal and i really like Blue Orchid :) I like songs of theirs like My Doorbell, Seven Nation Army. I'm not saying I'm a hardcore fan and i only know a couple of their songs :)

You'd like their song "The Denial Twist", it has a really good beat.
Yes I forgot to put that down as well; on the subject of Greenday being good rock, managed to get on top of the pops and 8yr old girls like it :l Rock on...

Im a very keen liker of The denial twist, i wasnt at first, but now it's grown on me.
i think these results are based on chart positions aswell :s, but i would of put "Strokes - Juicebox" in there too, as i love that song :eusa_ange
And classic green day, i would understand being on there, not the new stuff, too publicised
I hate the White Stripes so much...they're so ... UGH.

Agree. Lol, old stuff was good, but their makeup has covered up their good old sound.

Haha, I used to not like them either, but I got into them, guess it takes some listening. A lot of adults like them because they are a new band with an old sound.

I saw them play it on The Daily Show, and he played it with guitar. It sounded really good.
Helena should be there instead of I'm Not Ok, but meh.

Yeah, Id have thought Oasis - Lyla would be there.
I'm glad it's bad.. I'd hate good bands to be on there and then like everyone would get into them and the band would sell their souls to MTV.
But yeah I was surprised FFAF - Streetcar wasn't there..

Stereophonics are a Rock band from Wales, their latest album is kind of dark Indie I guess. They are pretty good and got their first UK #1 with Dakota.

I see. It must be based on the charts then. It would make sense seeing all those songs that were really popular.

Hmm i don't watch/listen to Kerrang anymore, I prefer MTV2 or Skuzz, Kerrang seems to be getting kinda "preppy".
Edit: Yah looks like it is compiled from successfulness and not talent :P
