How long do level 1 clue scrolls go on 4?

What do you mean? How long it takes to get the reward?
That is different with every clue, some take 5 places, some take 3, it's just random. :)
If you mean how long you can keep a clue scroll the answer is for ever, you can only have 1 clue scroll at a time though.

No, never, maybe with lvl 3's, but I don't think with those either.

The boxes near the cart are infront of the castle, before you go trought the first 'gate' there is a cart against the wall to the right. :)
(you can see it on the map, there are 2 blue '0's' on it. :) )

You can get to 10 but that is very rare and you only really get that many with lvl 2 and 3 ones, lvl 1 last sometime 3 to 5 places

This cart is NOT the one at the inner courtyard of Varrock Castle. South of the inner courtyard (and north of Varrock's central square), there is a double-loop path. Northeast of this intersection is a small cart, and the crates are nearby. wheres that in the palace cos ive searched them and its not there.

OH RIGHT!

Because I had a level 1 clue scroll in my bank and my friend told me to come kill guards and get clue scrolls with him. I gave up by the time he had done 3 treasure trails. Then I did my level 1 clue scroll. Then I went and killed about 3 guards and got a level 2 scroll straight away :D
