I don't like it. ~_~
It's annoying and repetative. 30 year olds dressing like they're 18.
My cousin likes rap, and the next time he says, "Who? Mike Jones!", I'll throttle him.
[/rant]
Oh! Does anyone like electronica? [It's a genre]
I like rap and a lot of music is on the same topics. I don't think its repetitive, unless you listen to the same artist over and over again. Also where the rappers come from thats the style of dressing long t-shirts and jeans.

Rap started music lol , thats in my point of view, and most of you people that ''say oh my god i list to all the rap'' You dont know what rap is , until you listen to underground rap (all of it) not mainstream. Rock in the other hand is good but most of it makes no sense at all , now metal atleast they talk about somthing true in this world not just the war , and Rap is the same thing as except they sound different and one likes god :S
That's no excuse. >.>
Your generalising, andre 3000 is featured in loads of fasion magazines. Plus in rock some 30 yr old men dress like 18 yr olds, that guy from Kiss still wears the stuff he wore when the band first came out...

SEXYDEATH , Thats kinda racist to say every rap dresses in that manner ,
and if you actually did a study , most rappers today or in their 19-25's
and how do they dress like 18 year olds? Theres no such thing as a age in dressing.
Pharelle is a rapper/ r&b and he calls his self skate board P and wears skater clothes
andre 3000 wheres rocker clothes, Mike shonota or whatever the guy from linkingpark , is a rapper now
Mike shonota or whatever the guy from linkingpark , is a rapper now
He sings his raps kind of, in the izzo remix he raps but sings part. But yer theres a lot of variety in rap take the guys from Black eyed peas, they rap but they don't wear long t-shirts etc...

If you're going to point out things, please do it correctly. o_O
I'm not being 'racist', lmao. I am, however, applying a personal bias on my post.
The term 'racist' is used when a situation is involving the degredation of another race or nationality.
The third sentence should answer your 'concern', I guess you could call it.

...
I actually did say I was applying a personal bias on my post. Bias being keyword. ¬¬
As tempting as it sounds, I really don't want to conduct an extensive research on the roots of this very popular genre (Go figure). I am making posts based on my first-hand experiences with said genre.
I really don't mind my posts being dissected and analyzed from personal points of views, but when providing me with a report on my thoughts it would help that the correct terminology is used.

You were still generalising and you have to put things in bold to make your point...

Oh, wow. Sorry. Let me explain even further:
Bias- An unfair act or policy stemming from prejudice.
I was making generalizations, blanket statements, prejudices, biases.
I'm not sure there's simpler way to explain. :l
You've obviously releasised your mistake and pulled away from the original argument. Isn't it unfair for you to generalise for all rappers?
HUGECOOL

I realized no mistake.
Please process the following information before making me repeat myself once more:
SEXYDEATH made a generalization about rap because he does not like it nor care for it.
SEXYDEATH does not care if the post made sense, was reasonable, or fair.
O and by the way being biased is not the same as generalising ;)

I don't really like most rap, not being racist or whatever, but most black rappers only talk about their g's on the flo. I like Eminem, but that's it really.

Well thats your opinion
But then again you probably listen to Death metal.. And i dont see what is so good about that music
I do agree I think most rap sounds the same. Although I can stomach some of it.. also rappers fashion sense cracks me up :']

I hate most rap, actually anything urban nowadays. But Hip-hop of the late late 80s/early 90s like um...De La Soul and Public Enemy where they talked about actual issues and it was more like poetry with a beat than the same monotonous droning of how rich they are and "how many *****es they can pull" was listenable, sometimes good.

I like rock the most, but there are stupid rock styles too though. Ripped jeans? Piercings everywhere? :P All music has different styles. And I dont really 'Hate' it as long as it isnt just swearing and talking about how tough they are ect.

I'm open to all music.
I find old school hip hop pretty cool but none of this new age stuff that clogs up the charts.
I get the reasons why you'd say things like the title of this thread, because it is repetitive.
Wu Tand Clan and N.W.A. would be groups I don't mind in the hip hop genre.
Someone said they don't see what's do good about death metal or something along those lines. Technical death metal is an acquired taste mainly acquired by people who can see what is put into the music made and have patience for things like walls of sound.
The most lame excuse I hear is: "I can't hear what he's saying this is ****!"
and to me that is like someone saying "I don't know what notes he's playing on the guitar!".
Shutting yourself off to a whole genre is silly and close-minded, but shutting yourself off to the mainstream stuff that's out today isn't that bad I guess because it is rubbish.

Wow, she's saying Rap is trash but then asking if anyone listens to electronica? Oh the irony. Stop generalizing, there is lots of rap that has a message and hip-hop is the most diverse type of music, hate it or love it.

Lol, 'Mike Jooones!', heh ;P
Nah, theres a big difference between Pop Rap than Rap itself. All that stuff you see on Top of the Pops and on music channels like Kiss are all Pop Rap and thats what younger people tend to like.
But its like anything, most of the material that stays low and true has meaning to it. As like emo or any other music genre, its a way to help express yourself, and doing it through different music which suites you.
I've liked Hip Hop/Rap since I was in year 3-4 :p I liked it way before it became a big phase in like 2002. I'll stick to liking it because I can see the difference between real rap and fake bling bling rap.

Son, look at your avatar. That's a dude with an extra smedium shirt on, with the sleeves creeping up on his shoulder. He makes himself pale on purpose, as opposed to other Caucasians who make themselves dark on purpose by tanning (why aren't you people happy with your skin color but hate on other peoples). I am assuming (and am probably correct) that he wears dirty looking, ragged, women's jeans and the nasty foot accessory known as a Converse. His hairstyle shows that he wants everyone to think he can't afford a haircut, but it was probably done by a high rate hair stylist. To top it all off, he is wearing eyeliner. All this to make himself 'unique', but there's millions of kids that look like him, acting like they're so depressed when they have everything. How special, huh? I hate attention seekers.

You know what, I could say exactley the same about Rock and metal etc.
Apart from the dress codes and of course your cousin lol.
I find rock and metal repetetive and the constant head banging gets on my nerves.
But each to their own and all that. :D

There two different breeds of rappers, the ones who rap about throwing money over naked women, and gold necklaces.
And then the other breed who rap about whats real and their lives and who have a real passion for music.
Unfortunately, the first breed are the ones who get the most radio-play, and it creates alot of rap haters, you've just gotta ignore 50-cent stuttering 'G-UNIT' and listen to some proper rap.
I love rap because I love street dancing, and I think it's the best genre of music to dance to.

He didn't say that..
He was explaining the dress codes of some rappers that feel that they don't have to wear baggy jeans, t-shirt or new era cap to be portrayed as a hip-hop artist.
