No, it was 3 days. "Your password is 3 days old and has therefore expired." I also found it unbelievable, hopefully it is a mistake.

Yep, true, not unless your talk to the outside world openly about habbo, which a lot of people do, they keep it secret.
I have written all mine down somewhere, just need to remove all these papers from ontop of it. :eusa_whis

Why don't you just change it a little bit, e.g. If your password was habbox, change it to habbox1, then habbox2 etc... :p

The password chaging thing was put in to encourage everyone to change their password. It should be disabled shortly.

An announcment would of been friendlier
An announcment would of been friendlier
friendlier yes, successful? probably not. only about 50 people would view the announcement and changed their password.

We made an announcement the day the Forum was open - And as you obviously didnt notice it, it proves the point that making it so you have to change your password is more successful than just asking you to
An announcment would of been friendlier
It wasnt set for all usergroups, only VIPs, Assistant Site Managers, Administrators, Super Moderators and Forum Moderators, so you won't of received the password expiry notice. But not changing it "since mega ages ago" is unsafe so there is now a new password in your email inbox. :)

in saw the announcment and immediately changed mine, announcements tehre for a reason. however i remember that you once put an announcement at the top of every forum bit if you know what i mean. why couldn't you do that? so that it was always visible.

When you are not Habbox staff and you want to use an easy password that is your own responsebility. But when you are Habbox staff and you know your password by heart it is too easy. You really need to use long passwords consisting of random characters. You have to keep a list with your passwords somewhere it is save. For example in a personal notebook, or in your mobile phone, or in a file somewhere on your pc (this would be best, but make sure nobody else has access to it if you don't trust your family).
The reason we had to "force" vips to change their password is because we wanted to do this with forum moderators. However this option only applies to a user's Primary Group, and some moderators that are vip have that as their Primary Group. Therefore we also had to force all VIPs to change their password. We are sorry for the inconvenience.
