ONE. Only one, exsists atm. This girl's legs/feet are attacted to look like flippers. Think there is a programme on C4 about it.

Perhaps it was a whale or something Rosie? :s, there's deep-sea explorers all over the world, they would've been discovered by now lol.

100 people were taken on a boat in scotland, they were taken to the Lockness and they were there to try and spot 'nessy' little did they know people who were filming the TV show put different things in the water and moved them about... Common everyday trash that floats around sticks and so forth...

83/100 people thought they saw the Lockness Monster that day... When really all they saw was a stick.

Peoples minds develop that image because they want to see soemthing that badly.

I doubt you saw a mermaid. (I say doubt because noone have ever had proof that it's been seen before).

Edit: No natural ones, not accidents from human births.
