You know you only get 15exp per string? meaning it's terrible exp...no matter what people say.
A far better way is to just camp out at shilo gem rocks, cutting all gems...you also get good mining exp...and most gems give more exp just cutting them than spinning flax

I say yes, it only took me a few hours to spin 2K flax. Shouldn't take that long...
