Over the last three or four months the competition department has changed in many ways. A new manager has came (me) and alot of new staff. The competition types have changed aswell.
What i want to know is if the competitions department is doing ok? Since i took over have we got worse or is it the same? Do you find the competitions boring, ok, or exciting? Is there any improvements the department could make?
Please let us know and pelase feel free to express your feelings and ideas :)
Thank you :)

It's been great so far. It would be better if the deadline of games were earlier because I've been waiting for ages... Also, it's been great except that I haven't won any competitions since you took over lol.
Edited By Aquae - Bet you hate me so much :D I remember delivering your prizes for MissAlice :)

Yuove done a great job and it is better than ever , you can improve by Hmm having other types of comps like quests on habbo :P also you can improve by letting me win :P muhahhaha :P
Edited By Aquae - Yeah, I've been trying to do a quest but i keep forgetting about it cos of the lack of free time i have. I have the questions etc but its jsut setting it all up. I may hire 2 or 3 Quest staff :P

Edited By Aquae - As talented as you are you still need to make sure your time and effort balances on all jobs :P
Anyway, I look at the competitons (even though I can't enter ) and they seem pretty good and wide ranging ;).

I think competitions shouldnt just be about alts.
Make this make that
BECAUSE most people cant alt =[
Edited By Aquae - There is a range of competitions from Alterations / animations to poem competitions and creative writing. We also hold a number of mystery competitions such as "Dark Stranger"

I think that the range of competitions is very good but I would like to know more about the judging criteria. What do the judges look for in the alt contests, or the creative writing contests?
Edited By Aquae - In alteration competitions we look for good shading, good ideas etc. In Wiriting competitions we look for creativity, good ideas. In poems we look for meaning and good grammer and vocabulary too. Its hard to put into words but it is always obvious which one the jduges like best :)
Also I think that some (if not all) competitions should be made into a vote for the 'Habbox Public'. When the competition ends, a poll is set up (with a deadline) and people can vote for the winner. I think this is a better reflection of the entrant's work than maybe 2 or 3 people judging it.
Edited By Aquae - Thank you for this idea. I shall think about this for a while :)
Well thats it but you're doing a great job all the same :)

What Alice (MissAlice) used to do when I was still staff before I resigned was, she made a thread in the staff forum asking for people who got rooms ready for a quest, so she only had to place a sticky or maybe move some furniture et voila, a quest. ;) ;)
Edited By Aquae - Yeah i was thinking of doing that. Yet someone mentioned an on-forum quest to with clues and answers in signitures / avatars etc.
I think you should bring back room with a view, those competitions were great, and no it has nothing to do that I won once, it's just great to check out the rooms of other people, and the prize of 1 month VIP and your room on habbox for a limited time was well worth it. :) There were always many entries because you don't need much skills to make a room. :)
Edited By Aquae- Yeah that competition may be starting again, or another competition that is identical to that will be taking its place. I just need to think of something original :P
But you're all doing a good job, only 1 thing bugs me, the prizes. It looks like you just pick some prizes with your eyes closed (maybe you do) because some hard competitions have small prizes and some easier ones have bigger prizes. For example the habbo outsider and Mr and Mrs Habbo competitions, a red dragon lamp and a habbo babes 2 poster for outsider and a petal for Mr & Mrs Habbo (I think it should be other way around. I know, it ins't about the prizes but about the fun, but still, don't you think hard work should be rewarded bigger and less hard work should be rewarded normal.
Edited By Aquae - Sometime the values of the rares change when we have already set it as a competition prize. I try to keep prizes around 2 - 3 HCs since not many people donate. The Habbo Outsiders competition used up a few remaining prizes so they did not add up to very much.
A comment on pink@fulff, don't you think it would be a popularity contest instead of a normal contest if you let other people vote? ;)
I really like the news reporter competition, that one is very original, I'm going to enter later on.
One last thing, then I'll finally stop writing (:p), you should make a competition where you have to make an animation, it's called alterations/animations, but there are never competitions where you can make an animation, just post a link to a thread saying how you can make one and what programs to use, because it's really simple and I think there will be some good entries.
Edited By Aquae - Thanks for that idea. I have been meaning to make one but im not an animation person and i havnt got a clue when it comes to animation shop or whatever it was called. :P Thanks.

I havnt been on Habbox very long but from what ive seen the competition section seems to be coming up with great ideas which are fun to take part in.
I like the idea of the point put forwards earlier by pink@fluff, that the Habbox public judge the competitions, mabey not all of them but a few alts comps. ect.
Im a pixel artist and wouldnt mind seeing what other Habbo's think of my work
