You have taste.

I also like the Scooby. I don't go for big supercars. They have crap economy. I'd personally go for something like a '67 Chevy Camaro or a Ford Mustang GT-500. I prefer muscle cars to supercars, even though they're still thirsty.

My uncle had a Mitsi Evo 8, which was sweet. It was fast, it looked 'the business' and it had a nice interior. However, this didn't do that well on economy, although it was alright compared to some cars.

However, If I was to get a practical car for a family, I would say our car is good enough. It's a Ford Mondeo Ghia. It's practical - 4 doors and a lot of space. It's good on economy - if you're kind with it. It's got a good stereo system with room for building your system. And finally, it is modifiable. It's a car where you can put larger wheels on and modify the interior and it will still look good, providing you don't go OTT.
