I actually don't like them.
I don't like the layout of them at all. I've never used it, and maybe if I did I would change my mind... but at first glance they just don't look that powerful.

Nope. There are many security holes in it. Try to get popular ones. XMB is overall not good.

phpBB.com - A VERY Basic forum, but very good because there are TONS of mods and skins avaliable, so you can customize it too your liking. Or you can go with a premodded option: www.phpbbfm.net [not recommended] www.integramod.com [RECOMMENDED!]

SimpleMachines.org - Very cool forum. I like the range of mods avaliable, although there could be more... Its very powerful.

myBBoard.com - Pretty neat little forum. Lots of people like it although I'm not a very big fan of it.

It depends on which you think is the best :P You will need a host with FTP access, PHP support and at least one MySQL database.

Last time, IPB is free. Now it is not. I still got the old one but not allowed to give it to someone. phpBB is the answer for you. If you don't like it, make a forum from scratch!
