WoW-Is it really worth it?

What makes WoW so great? I mean i play loads of other MMOs but all i hear is WoW this and WoW that, I mean to me it just looks like another generic fantasy MMO but tell me, what makes it different?
I'm probably gonna get it for my B-day so..yeah

Graphics are brilliant, you can go to instances in parties, and loads of other cool stuff.. Yeah it's waaay worth it.
