Keep protect from on at all times, and always carry ATLEAST 5 anti pots when you leave for ape atoll, aswell as 3 or 4 prayer pots, run to the altar and put melee protect on when entering altar. Worked for me.

This quest is...REALLY easy. I did it on my pure at just under level 49.

I think i had around 70 range
1 prayer
1 def
and 70 mage.

Maybe some melle stats.

The tunnel bit is the hardest because you can't protect from the rocks.

I did monkey madness when i was around level 60 , I had really low ranged like 40 or something and was using steel arrows but it was more effective against it than my rune halberd and maging.
I found the opposite for the grand tree demon which i had to us my lvl 30 mage as my melee hit nothing.
