Why do some parents tell their kids not to run with a pointed/sharp object because they 'may trip and poke their eye out'? Wouldn't they poke it in?

Erm.. What? :s
Well if it wedges in the corner of your eye and you fall akwardly then it may pop your eye out. :p

Dont they jus say Dont run with sharp objects ! ? - If you fell and were holdin object at certain angle it would blind you. Maybe thousands of people have been blinded by falling with sharp objects ?/ :D

It totally depends on the pointy object, where it had entered the human body, and how it had entered.
Well maybe so the kid dosnt do it again...

Mum: Now, Jonny! Don't run with sharp objects, you hear me? You might fall over land at an angle which is 1 in a million chances to do, the 'sharp object' might suddenly go in to your eye (Again; slim) and your eye might fall out and blood would be everywhere!
...
...
But other than that, don't worry, Jonny!
[Insert one traumatised child].

good point so that probably voids the fact that you shouldnt run with sharp objects.
So everyone lets run with siscers because we cant poke our eyes out they will go in.
uhhh well it is probably because if you get a pen in your eye you will eventually have to take it out because you wont leave the broken eye in your head.
and also why do we say i am going to go take a pee or poo when we are really leaving it. Well most of us leave it.
issaa.

Well, you're not exactly shoving feces back up your behind, are you? You're 'taking' it out of your body.

It has to do with the term "Knock your lights out". When they mean "poke it out" your eye won't function at all.
