Paint is probably the best for pixel art, other programs like photoshop, they are for special effects, like my sig you can see.

A reason why I do it can be explained in the following example
Bob makes a fairly good alt and to make everyone think he is very talented he calls it his first alt when it is about his 10th
Bob makes a bad alt and if he posts it everyone will think he is terrible at alterations so bob calls it his first alterations and gets sympathy for it being his first when its really not.
I hope this can be used to explain ratings and Comments made on this alteration and other labled "First"
