Hey,

Just telling you guys that there is a (new) scam that is rather popular under the noobish scammers. It's easy to detect specially if the scammer is really noobish but some of my friends have fallen for it because they noticed it too late (don't call them noobs please as one of them uses this forum, thank you. :) )
Now what they do, is when you sell an items, let's say a sara plate for 1m, nice round number, the scammer first offers you 1000k, but quickly changes it to 10004(gp), the 4 looks like a k, so some people think it says 1000k, and agree and are then left with only 10k, instead of 1000k.
I know, this isn't a very difficult scam but if you're sleepy or if you aren't paying attention you could fall for it, and some people have.
So just to inform you, do with the info what ever you want, don't say you weren't warned if you do fall for it. :)

For you to expect someone to call your friend a "noob", you must've thought they were a "noob" in the first place. The scam is really old anyway.

You should spend some more time on this forum and see how many times people get called a noob.

Anyway, as I was saying, I'm just informing you guys that many people are using them again and people fall for them. Jeez, guess help isn't always apreciated.

It is if you think it's weird I expect people calling others a noob because they fell for a scam.

This scam has been around since the beginning of RS so how can it be new? Oh and don't tell people how the scam is done as it will give people ideas -.-

I got new between ' and (, so it's kinda, renewed, back popular.
And how else can people be aware of the scam if they don't know how it's done?

You just give a brief discription about it, you put to much detail in so people could try it, and the scam never stopped, people always do it

Thanks dude

All they need to do is to get shortkeys and put in ''989996'' and click there shortkey to remove

i was trying to see if it looked real by storing that into my bank and i guess if you dont pay attension they can fall for it

but the second screeny is tricky coz if its 1mil it says 1 million in green eh eh?

"4" Looks Nothing Like "k"
It does in the first trade box, the minority of people dont bother checking the second screen, thats how this scam works...

Well you guessed wrong, I am just saying that people on this forum so quickly snap at people who try to help.

Maybe your the ones scamming.
