Before I start, this isn't a tutorial, it's to aware you how easy it can be when you're tricked by your friends.

*REMOVED* did this to my close friend who was looking after my stuff.. I lost 12Ts worth because of it.

Well first of all, the person is likely to be a good friend of yours.. or so you think. They'll say they cant access their email because it's been hacked or something so they then change the email on their Habbo to your email temporarily. They'll then say they think their Habbo account has been hacked so they'll say they've requested a new password and it'll be sent to your email. They then get you to copy the new pass and give it to you. But.. in actual fact, they've reset YOUR pass, NOT theirs! So you have given them your pass and they can get on your account and take your stuff.

Only good friends can do this as they need your DOB, email etc..

REMEMBER. This isn't a tutorial. It's AWARING you on what's going on, the main person doing this is *REMOVED*.

It was a bad idea posting it here, some people are going to read this and try it on others.

Happened to me just now, and it was a guy called Specific , but he has a new habbo now.

This isn't hacking, more like scamming if anything. But I have to agree, this should be said, it is a very good scam really, more people will fall for this than any other scam if it gets out of hand.

i dnt understand , so wouldnt i just reset your pass on tht account ? not the pass on both account ?

Basically, the scammer says they have been hacked and have requested a new password, but because they know your email now they have requested you a new password. Basically they have changed your pass, not their own.

Ah...that IS good information. You should also post a copy of this in the Scams forum too, for people who are looking out for new things like this. +rep

Ok, some guy just used this scam on me, but he only had my email address. There's no way he could have got my dob becuase the one on my account isn't even my real one and even I don't know it off hand. Can someone reset you password without knowing your dob? And thankfully, I recognised this scam from reading about it here, so my account is still safe.
