The stamp thing with the 6 pins doesnt hurt at all though. They have it checked like a week later, if its still there, you dont need the jab. If it's faded away, you have to have it. Someone fainted during the jab, it wasnt that bad, don't worry.

Sound like it hurts! Dont have that here, thank god!
Im not really afraid of needles. Although last time when I got my tetnis needle [after slicing my finger in a cooking incident...] I couldnt move my arm for 3 days.
As a result I didnt have to get a combo needle at school, :D Seeing my friends walking around with dead arms and not being able to punch me. :eusa_danc Priceless:eusa_danc

The TB jab is nothing to worry about and gives you LIFELONG protection against Tuberculosis, which is still present in the UK.
One of my friends had the 6-needle-stamp and it stayed, which meant she was immune to TB, but they gave her the TB jab anyway!
You get a nice scar from the TB jab, and it doesn't take more than 2 seconds to receive it. :)

If you have the TB jab, let everyone see your scar, it shows your proud and NOT afaird of having that done! Unlike some who cant
It hurts for around minute?
Nearly everyone has them even if you dont need it now..
Im in Yr 10 so its been a year and u cant even see my scar anymore :) And it doesnt even hurt, it mayhurt for around a month after you had it done if someone hits your scar.

There's nothing terrible about the TB jab. I dreaded it, but then it was ok. It felt rather like a bee sting, and itdidn't hurt much afterwards. Just don't let anyone touch yoyr arm, because that's what hurts, even weeks afterwards. I think my scar's faded thoiugh now, I had it last year. But TB is the worst jab you're ever going to have to have at school or something, so it's not really that terrible. Don't worry about it, and don't look at the needle.

jeez, you lot sound like you had it good!! i got the rubbish nurse who obviously knew nothing about injections for my heaf test AND my BCG. after my heaf test i actually couldnt move my arm and my actual bcg was so painful. i had to go to the doctor and have antibiotics because it was full of pus and incredibly painful and a year on i still have the scar and it looks pretty minging [see below]

blocked out school name for obvious reasons.
and btw im not trying to put you off deliberatly!! im sure you will get a trained nurse!!

I had the 6 needles, the mark went away so I had to have the jab.
That was last year or maybe 2 years ago, and I still have the mark where the jab was.

Six neddles isn't too bad, although the whole click and pain thing I didn't like.. I prefer the slow release into the skin like the bcg. Dw if you get a decent nurse your Bcg will turn into a nice pale scar the same colour as your skin and will only be about *thinks* the size of the end of a pen or so :P

She has the right white blood cells and disease fighting strand already in her system, meaning that she is protected from TB.
Also here is an interesting passage;
"Does BCG Work?
Unfortunately, the positive effect of BCG in protecting infants and young children from endemic areas from the lethal forms of TB does not extend to the adult years. Thus, many people develop active tuberculosis even though they received BCG, even in multiple doses, in earlier years. Since BCG has been used so widely and for such a long time, if it were effective it is unlikely that one third of the world's population would now have TB infection and that two million people a year worldwide would die of TB."

Yeah, the injection thing goes into your arm slowly, and the liquid goes into your arm. Your arm goes a bit weak, and a sort of pink/red small bump appears.
(Mine is still there after 2 years because my sister pushed me into the door and made it septic:()
