Has anybody gotten their lip or tongue pierced?

Not sure if this is in the right place but have you? if you have is their any pain if there is what is it like? Or is their any health worries

I've gotten both.

Personally, I didn't feel any pain when I had mine done. It was a pretty quick process. You just feel a tony bit of pressure.

Keep the piercing clean and the jewerly as well..

I've got my tongue done, the actual piercing you hardly feel a thing. There are no nerve endings in your tongue, so it's the least painful piercing available. You feel a small pinch as the needle comes out the top because of your taste buds, they're just telling your brain that something's coming through that they weren't aware of, but it's really nothing. The real pain is eating afterwards. I was lucky and could eat fine after just a day, but some people don't heal well and take a week or so of liquified food ^_^

Also there's only the tiniest risk of infection with tongue piercing - your saliva is a natural antiseptic, so unless you have really dirty jewellery in a freshly pierced hole in your tongue, you should be fine on that front. If you do get it done and you have any worries, just go see your piercer, if they're any good they should know what's up (and it's most likely that any reaction is completely natural).

It's a fun piercing, and it's a bit of a confidence boost in the bedroom too. Just don't play with it until it's fully healed ^_^

Yep. I am 13, personally it feels cool, don't think about pain, which only makes it worse. Think about a edition of playboy or something, wear baggy pants, and just let them do their job.

I got my tongue done :P and didnt really feel anything just a slight pressure had no probs with it healing was better than when i had my ears pierced they got a bit sore :( just make sure u go to a good clean place ;)

I had my lip done when I was 12, it doesn't hurt too bad, It feels like someone pinching your lip really tight, the only scary bit is the things they use XD.. like the clamp and stuff.. ;]

I got both done, and they didn't hurt much. It's just eatting after that hurts the most. Took me a day, then i was eatting normal again.

I had my lip pierced on my 17th birthday - random piece of information.
They sprayed this stuff on it, to numb my lip, but like the big idiot I am, I swalled it...So I couldn't feel my throat (Yay) but could feel the rest of my mouth.
It's kind of hard to explain...There was no actual pain (I know that sounds strange, because some guy stuck a needle through my lip) but it's true. You feel it go through...but it's not painful...And trust me, I'm a wimp for pain.
Of course there are health risks, but you should get literature from whoever does your piercing about what to do/not to do.
Having my ear rim hurt more than my lip :x
And OH! make sure the ball of the labret is on TIGHT...because mine fell out tons.
19th birthday is coming up...thinking of getting another piercing... It's becoming a birthday ritual :p
