Well this has been hyped up we just need to check all the meat and stuff but the only way is to be prepared is by contracting some into a human and producing a vaccine.

Oh fgs these kind of threads are starting to annoy me now. Everyone knows about this already...and there is no point in making a fuss about it because there is nothing you can do to stop it and EVERYONE IS PERFECTLY SAFE AT THE MOMENT.

Lmao, this is so pointless. Bird flu is so hyped up by the Media. Look how many countries its been in across Africa ect. And only 6 peopel have died of it, and they were most people that live in a chicken farm or keep chickens and they handled dead ones. I think the whole thing is a bit OTT.
EDIT: Just read a few more posts, I agree with Craig and Mentor.

Exactly. It is absoluetly harmless aslong as it doesn't mutate into a human form of the pandemic. 10,000 birds in the UK could have it and not affect us...
It's pretty simple, just don't pick up/touch a dead bird...

If the bird is already dead then you cannot catch the virus, only when it's alive you can.

Or we could all lock our selfs in our houses and just go on habbox forum.

I agree, it's all blown out of proportion by the media,
I agree it could be a threat, but everyones acting like
'OH NOES11!!111 WE R GUNNA DIE!111'
I don't see why everyones so worried, they were the same with SARs, saying it could wipe us out ect.
And we're still here right..

Agreed. There is one of these every few years, and people never remember. I have to remind people of SARS. I remember that, people just stopped talking about it. There was no day where people went "Hey, SARS is gone!". Its actually still here, but a pandemic didnt happen, so people arent interested anymore. We arent going to be talking about bird flu a year, because people will stop believing in all of it. They said it was going to spread to humans a few monthes ago, and it didnt. It is a media hype, Im not an anti-media fanatic, but this is media GOLD. People believe it.
Also, if you dont believe that people would be so oblivious if this wasent real, I have a story for you. In the 1950's there was a story on April Fool's day on NBC. Someone did a report on a "Spagetti festival of trees" where spagetti grew on trees, picked them, and layed them out to dry in the sun. There was more to it, but that was the basic story of it. THOUSANDS of people called in asking where they could get their own spagetti tree. That happened, people do believe that. They had to announce the next day that it was a joke.

It can be passed from bird to human, not from human to human, not until it goes into human form.

It can be passed from Human to Human but it would have to be really strong, and you would have had to be with that person alot.

Ok, then Ill stay away from people with bird flu. Ill assume that symtoms would show up before "A lot" of time. Plus thats probably not true. You dont get viruses slowly from people. You either get it or you dont.
not trying to sound mean here or ought but i hope the flippin australians get it cause they dont get ought , or hawaii :@
