I dunno if it will be any good, usually when tv shows make movies they usually arent very good, well except for the family guy movie that totally rocked. But considering how long the simpsons have been around it just doesnt seem like they'd have many ideas for a movie. Of course I'll still watch it and hope it turns out good, but Im a bit worried

How do they have an exact date picked out? Most movies say "Spring 2006" or something like that when its more than 6 monthes away. But these guys have the EXACT date picked out when they probably havent even gotten half way in making it?

True, because they got new writers. Conan O'Brian (Not sure if you guys have him, he has his own really big show over here) used to write for them. Apparently a bunch of the writers left a few years ago, and they turned to poop. There is nothing that will beat seasons 7-10.

It probably won't be that long, remember the Who Shot Mr Burns it'll be that kinda length. I find the best series 1-4, classic Simpsons :)
