On habbo it gets kinda quiet around the hotel so My idea is that there should be elevator music at all times around the hotel :)

Habbo is committed to providing everyone with the best user experience possible over a standard internet connection. As the hotel is very rich in graphics, there is a risk that music could compromise this experience for those who do not have extremely fast internet connections. We are working on ways to optimise the hotel so that we can stream music and we will make it available as soon as we can.

Taken from Habbo UK FAQ section

If you want it even better check out this

The alternative is to provide your own music, with either Winamp, WMP or whatever program you use - but to enjoy it with others via the HabboHotel server, as said above, will probably cause a lot of unnecessary lag until a new way of doing this is found. Would be good if there is a sort of 'built-in' radio station someday though. Maybe Habbox Radio - Oooh! :eusa_clap

Actually - They wouldn't necessarily have to 'pay the record companies'. Do Habbox Radio? No... Because they have a license to broadcast legally purchased music. Habbo could apply for a radio license, and being the big organisation they are, they could probably even get a few sponsorship deals going. I doubt very much they would be forced to pay large sums of money to record companies in order to broadcast their music.

Also people are aware of the how popular habbo is, and most of their music is aimed at kids that use Habbo and could give the bands better publicity!!

I don't think there's alot of point in doing that. I think it will cause more lag around the hotel and besides, if people want to listen to music they can go to habbox radio or habbohut.

Adding simple soundtracks to habbo wouldn't be so bad. If they used very small, very low quality sound files like the ones used on cokemusic.com it could be done but doing that would cause upsets between Coke Studios and Habbo Hotel. I think a lot of cokemusic players would come to habbo if it got music because they can listen to music like on CS and play a better game with a larger selection of furni.

Making an mp3 player for habbo wouldn't be so bad. If it was comprised of certion things:

-A limited number of songs (say 5)
-Very small sound files and lower then average quality of songs
-User song selection
-Only you can hear the music from your mp3 player
-Easy song changing and pausing without mouse clicking (like alt codes)

This could possible be done but I doubt Sulake Ltd. ever would because they would lose cokemusic customers and it might turn away newcomers.

But wouldn't it just save a load of lag and bother for each Habbo themselves to download winamp or winmed etc, and play their own music? That way, the music isn't relayed over the Habbo server, saving lag and time, plus the habbo themselves gets to listen to their own music. What's the advantage or benefit of Habbo relaying little gameboy style tunes rather than someone playing them on their own computer? If they want 'shared', broadcasted music then they can simply tune into one of the Habbo fansite's radio station.

if people have slow connections fair enough, how about you can chose the music to be on or off in a room? And maybe people can play there own music or can chose a radio station? We could be on to something lolz

Still I ask, why relay music over the server, and cause unnecessary internet traffic, as opposed to listening to a fansite's radio or playing your own?

The advantage would be... ?

I don't think they should have music, like the otheres, have your own music. But what if they did, imagine the lag it will cause.

You've completely missed my point, that still has no advantage over listening to an official fansite radio, and the lag/size problems would still be there.

Tune into Habbox Radio I say...

To be honest...
I think that Habbo is good enough without it.
CokeMusic has backround music, where u can create ur own and everyone listens, and then u get the offensive people who decide to rate it really badly.
Well i feel that Habbo should stay as it is, maybe some more updations with new furni and things like that.
But i'd say most of us would want Habbo to be different, as it is already unique compared to other chatrooms.
But i'd say that's 'a' reason why it's so popular. (.co.uk) As it's so very different! :D
