I can't stand them. The old emo music (Something Corporate and stuff like that) is good, but now the emos have taken metal under their wing with crap like screamo. Before emo was a fashion it was good (as in, the old music was great until it became a cutting/depressed fashion).

I really hate the whole "cool to be uncool" fashion, with all these kids thinking they're the biggest anarchist rebels because they listen to what they think is punk and draw A's in circles on the tables at school.

What's even worse is when they say "I'm not emo, I'm just me". Bull. Most people who don't want to be labelled are emos, goths or grunge kids. There are of course exceptions, but it seems to be the fashion to go around stating how much you hate labelling these days - oh, whilst making comments on the passing "chavs" of course.

I'm disgusted in most of you i for one am a bit emo, in th depressive state my girlfriend is Emo, and she goes through a hard time theere is nothing wrong with them apart from them being depressed not all of them cut there selves so don't take the p hrase "all emos slit thereselves" because thats rubbish, they can be nice people they just take into account there feelings to much and if you have a problem with it pm me.

Sheepy, some people have allot of things to be depressed about, some people, have problems at home with there family say dad beaten them mum getting beaten family splitting up ect. some people have so much trouble at school, that they ar scared to tell anyone and they don't know what to do. and some people just don't think they was ament to be put on the planet because they htink the world would be better without them because they're a waste of space and i disagree the amount of time i've spent with my girlfriend cheering her up about this sort of thing she belives that im the only one keeping her alive and i know what her problems are mainly school and family. but lots of emos have opions and i can understand going against people who say they are emo becuse theyve had a little fall out with friend but the more serious stuff is what i belive is true and people are not trying to act cool. and belive me they wouldnt want to act cool either. and Thanks Bubbly :)

Most people seem to think that if you're upset about something you're depressed, well let me tell y'all something: Depression is an illness, not a mood. Your girlfriend may well have her own problems, but having problems doesn't mean you have to dress/act in a certain way and listen to certain music.

Here's some smashing news for you: it's quite likely that no emos are actually depressed. People who suffer from real depression don't have the time to worry about style changes or anything, and they need help. Emos distract this attention away from people who need it and give a really bad name to depressed people, who are then called posers/fakers and get even worse.

I can't stand them. The old emo music (Something Corporate and stuff like that) is good, but now the emos have taken metal under their wing with crap like screamo. Before emo was a fashion it was good (as in, the old music was great until it became a cutting/depressed fashion).

I really hate the whole "cool to be uncool" fashion, with all these kids thinking they're the biggest anarchist rebels because they listen to what they think is punk and draw A's in circles on the tables at school.

Emo - Generally dark clothes, dark hair etc., they're the ones who think they're "alternative" quite often, listen to bands like MCR, FFAF and anyone else with stupidly long names. It started as something where they went around cutting and whatever, but since it's become too much of a fashion now, you get mostly happy emos (unless they're like... 13 year olds who like pretending to be depressed).

Chav - Also known as NEDs, Scallies, Townies and other names, they are often seen wearing sports clothes, but also dabble in the Burberry markey (fake usually, as Burberry's expensive). Seen as quite violent, often reckless. Goths, emos, moshers and all that jazz dislike chavs but are too scared to say anything, whereas chavs are usually quite open about their feelings towards these groups. I respect chavs, seeing as they're the only subculture who really embrace what they are, rather than pretending to be "individual" and "different".
