Hey!

You hear all these rumours of new virtual hotels. Pfft.

But how actually do you make them? I understand you use Lingo & Director... but how is it formed, does anyone have a example piece of code of lingo. Etc.

I just want to understand more the base of these games, although let me re assure, I am not attempting to make one. =]

Hello.

Correct it is used in Macromedia Director and I got you a code snippet via google.

-- This handler outputs powers of 2 to the Message panel
on powersOfTwo
n = 2 -- start with 2
repeat with i = 1 to 100 -- output 100 numbers
put n -- send to the Message panel
n = n*2 -- multiply by 2 to get the next number
end repeat
end

I would have know idea what that would do if it wasn't commented =]

Thanks

You dont have to make them like that, the one reason people do, is becuse thats how habbo is made, and the other hotels tend to just be n00bs attemting to copy what habbo have done "/

I presume it can be made in Java and also Flash & Actionscript.

A little code snippet for you, I shall try to explain this.

property myLocZ -- The property is "myLocZ"
on beginSprite me -- Prepare sprite
myLocZ = 100 -- LocZ is equivalent to 100
sprite (me.spriteNum).locZ = myLocZ --Sprite number.LocZ is "myLocZ" output
end
on enterFrame me -- "when entering a new frame"
sprite (me.spriteNum).locZ = myLocZ -- The sprite will be equivalent to the sprite number of mylocZ
end

May be a little rough, Havn't coded Lingo since last year now.

You can pretty much make it with whatever you want. When I was more of a noob than I am now I tried to make one named Techno Tower, I got as far a walking and furniture moving demo but that was as far as my skills went, even though that is further than alot have got (cough Plaza Studios, Lime City and Jango City cough).

If you were really "ub3r 1337" you could do it with just PHP and Javascript, but it would most probably be terrible and very buggy.
