Well i watched a program a while back now.. it was about how supermarket comanys keep chickens. They keep them in packs of 500,000 + chikens in a small hut. They have like a cm2 each! then when they wee the immonia burns there legs witch is called hock spots or summit. So when u see them in the super market you see the burns ! Im off chicken now.. ALSO When the chickens get trampled to death and they have been splatted thgey just send the chicken for packaging. They treat them so bad then when there legs are broken the kill them and pluck them and put them on the shelf ready for YOU to eat.

I'd show a video about the cruelty factory farms put livestock through, but it might be against the forum rules. It's somewhat disturbing.

No, it's animal cruelty in general. One of my teachers was an animal activist and a member of PETA and she let me borrow some videos of chickens being tortured and slaughtered to be sold in supermarkets. It's not just fast food restaurants doing it. ;x

Yup peta only murder 90% of the animals they "save", stdage and film there animal curlty movies, and make multi million pound profits. There very trustable.

How else do you think they treat them? They're stuck up people, they won't keep them in a 4-mile-long beach on the costa del sol with the sun under their heads would they? A lot of my dad's side of the family are farmers / retired farmers, but they never did stuff like that.

My "friend"s uncle kills chickens. He said that he punches their head off... *pukes* I serioulsy hate him for this!

Chickens are also kept in packs of 3, in cages with a floorspace no bigger than a pice of A4 piece of paper. Which is why I'm buying free-range from now on, as they are looked after better.

But it's an important part of our diet?

Hardly. This is where humans are either un-educated on this fact or too ignorant. Meat can be substituted with other products to keep our diet just as balanced.

Kk. And I'm not that well educated, seeing how I don't really pay attention in school.

My food tech teacher must be on prawns, because he didn't say anything about meat being substituted.

FlyingJesus

I for one don't care about where my food comes from or what's happened to it. Animals are animals, I don't know them personally and have no connection with them (until they come in contact with my teeth) and so I don't have to care.

Beating up chickens? Sounds fun.
Meat substitutes? Not interested.
Slaughtered mercilessly? I care not.

I'm a human, humans are naturally predators, omnivores who kill and eat animals. If you think you're somehow more sensitive or advanced because you don't like meat production, congratulations on helping nature's destruction. If we all went veggie, the entire world's ecosystem would collapse, and there would be much more suffering than there is now. Embrace your human qualities, go kill yourself a sheep.
