So many of these threads should be in the SPAM section. I mean, if just a normal, regualar user (like me) posted oo off the bed my pillows waiting for me. I would probaly get loads of replies like wrong section :S If someone whos more well known does it. The replies would be like Ohhh see u l8er ma hunny bun sleep of the boogeyman and stuff like that. Why are they allowed to do it and we cant. Oh and also, some of these threads should be in SPAM. We dont really need to know about when you go to bed and things. It seriously dosnt bother us. And, the spam section is open to you!
Sorry for sounding harsh yet again but it just gets on ma nerves!

You can't really define things as spam or not 'spam' because theres just only one simple way of doing so.

If it has no relevence to the forum, no structure or is just completly wrong in this forum, it should be moved.

But most of these are 'Outside of Habbo' and technically go here. Like the Sponge bob Square pants controller (:p) I posted... It's not in Habbo... It's in real life outside of Habbo, so technically it goes here but it could be classed in the spam section as well.

Oh and hey, Jan. =D Have'nt seen you on MSN recently. :(

His/her point is that people complain about threads that aren't relevant to the category when new people do it, but when well known members do it, the action becomes acceptable even though it clearly isn't.

It isn't as simple as just not reading them when they're all over the place.

Well since the definition of spam is more technical then it was labled before:

Stupid
Pointless
Annoying
Messages

It's harder to catagorise it into actual 'spam'.

I say; just let the moderators handle it... If they think it's 'spam' they'll move it and if it's really bad, like the belly thread. (>_>) then they can just delete it.

Problem is though, moderators contribute to these ingenious threads and they way they handle it is simply not up to par with forum standards. Maybe if moderators weren't so leanient towards certain forum members, this wouldn't be an issue.

But seriously.. No one wants to know what you like (at least not me), and the "post your [insert body limb here] threads" are just a way for hormonal teen children to get off to looking at pictures of legs and hair. That's not a fetish, that's deperation.

Haha, that is so true, it's become past fetish and is the need for them to actually be satisfied. How wrong is that though?

Well, this isn't like other forums they don't exactly have the most 'mature' moderators and some of the more mature members are actually older and more experienced than the current MODS and SMODS. I for one, being an example, have been with quite a few forums where I have been a Super Moderator/Moderator and Staff.

Yet, you have to go through a whole deal of crap just to become a moderator and then if you be to strict, you egt told off because it's a 'teenage' forum.

Ah well, I guess we're just the lowly members, eh?

Much of what gets posted in here turns into pointless spam as people end up fighting with each other over nothing.

The spam section owns though! <3

Well, I understand that, but I believe it's against Habbox rules to post personal pictures. However, the pictures are not totally personal because people tend to scribble on them wth MS-P, but more and more of these threads are revealing people more visually which can be dangerous to a certain extent.

No, Kinkyy, the thread is not spam. The thread is on topic and isn't breaking Habbox rules. Maybe if you were capable of stating a credible argument, you wouldn't consider it spam.

It is against the rules too post pictures of your face, in case of stalkers o.O

GJay

Posting images of legs and bums I think were the worst. The forum is getting too suggestive in my eyes.

Biseinen
19-04-2006, 10:35 AM
The only decent one would be the hair one I think. In my eyes, Habbox worry too much about safety and members being stalked. In a way though, it's nice to get that 'protection'.

Yep. It's something some people don't understand, and when they find their face splattered all over anti-habbox websites, they start complaining.

GJay

Cassay: Was my belly thread suggestive ?

It showed half your body off. Habbox rules state that people cannot show their identity - I suppose in anyway shape or form.

Yes Probably.. Although it was hmmm... An interesting thread :P
Edit:
The rule states;
A6. Do not post your photo anywhere on the forum - The reason for this is your own safety as some people may start stalking you or bothering you in other ways.

Me personally thinks that posting your belly wouldn't show people your identity.

Biseinen
19-04-2006, 10:39 AM
Intresting put aside; still against the forum rules. Heck even the hair one is, I knwo your face is covered, but still. They frown upon it and it's not what they 'want'.

The majority of the people that have posted in these threads have posted more than once, ergo, revealing themselves more and more each time.

The issue though, is not that a stalker might use it, but that someone else might use it or post it on the internet somewhere.

Its actually a cycle. There is reason why more well known people can put stuff like that. Its because people will make a conversation out of it. People who are lesser known wont get any replies, which is why people think its spam.

Its all about the follow up.

Thats part of the cycle. Since no one did or will reply, it looks like someone just posted it for spam. But if someone gets a lot of replies on their thread because they are well known, you cant call it spam because a lot of people are having fun on it.
