View Full Version : Is Habbo your life?

:kader

I was reading a thread from -Ex I think his name was. He made it sound like Habbo was his entire life. I mean he said things like "Long live Habbo". I mean is that normal :s. Also, UK staff who work in offices playing computer games, when they could have a real job as a doctor or somethng that helps the world. I think Habbo has become a bit too big, I mean people like - Ex (no offence) treat it as it's what they do, when it's a computer game where you trade pixelated furniture that's worth horrendus prices, ie. some-one said that some rich people have up to £5000-10,000 worth of stuff in their room.
Does anyone else think it's getting out of hand?

Moved by Woodeh. (Forum Moderator): From Bobba. Please post in the correct forum. :D

For a short time it was, people are getting to real with there Weddings, Adoptions, Maffia's, Bf and Gf..
But I stopped playing habbo because it took to much time, I love being on Habbox and stuff and I think habbo is doing great (Cuz its getting really populair) but the habbo's are making it look like a real life, that is going to far.

Habbo isnt my life, i only go on it once every so often. I find forums, and other websites far more intersting, habbo can be fun for a few hours, sometimes, but it gets repetive, i spend far far more time on this forum, than i ever have on habbo. Athogh i think the computer is probly my life nearly so thats probly not gd anyways :/

the staff dont just sit there playing games, they get paid to work like any other person.

for me habbo is something to do while in the house.

I do go on habbo a bit much, but I suppose its everyones choice how much time and money you spend on it. Personally I wouldnt spend a fortune on pixelated furniture, but some people might.

Yeh I just like the forum, habbo is ****.

So what if people go on it alot, if thats how they'd like to spend their life.
But personally I think to be addicted to it is a bit sad.

I was addicted to habbo last year. But my new years resoloution is not to go on as much. This year, I've only been on for 30 mins! When it would usually be about 5 hours a day (9 in holidays!)

I only go for it cause of friends I got from the site. I know it's only ''net'' but NO you can get really attach to them and become great friends..you really found about how the person is inside and not outside..They're still people with feelings not just pixels.

Yeah exactly, but isn't it more fun to socialise with people you really know, because you can go out and have more fun and being slouched on a computer chair.

I'm very shy in real and it's easier to get to know somebody on the net then in real...

Nope Habbos Not my Life.. I mean Ive been on a bit more lately cos Ive been home trying to avoiud that holiday work But when im back at college I only go on maybe a couple time s a week and most of that is spent on the forums. I pretty much post on here and Mod on Imp.net forums and I find them more interesting.

I think Its a good job.. They are makin a difference to some people helping moderate children where they have a place they can be themselves. Wouldnt mind working there.. Doesnt sound so bad..

Meh I live in a rural area so sometimes Only way I can talk to my mates who live furhter aa is on net and by phone. Also met soem great people on habbo :)

i think i know more pople on teh computer than in real life, sad as that is.

Hippygurl101
03-01-2005, 06:23 PM
Thats not sad, Its just that somethnig like the net and habbo exposes you to a larger amount of people than in real life at one time and you get a chance to talk to alot of people. In real life usually relationships with people are focused in like one group of friends etc.

I find it easier in real life, I don't really have many 'friends' on the internet because I find I have more fun with people in real life.

I go on Habbo if I am stuck inside (rain, no one is coming out) bored.
Everyday I check up on the forums, but I'm hardly on habbo any more, any when I am I'm in HxHD.

I hardly ever go on habbo, i go on forums more now, you get more of a chance to say what you think...
Computer games are a good way to break free, if you are angry, you show your anger (not towards other people though) if you are sad, you show your sadness, and if you are happy, you show your happiness, some people might say its a place where you can 'be yourself' without actually 'being yourself'
Habbo is a good way to socialise without meeting, it is also not hard either, as all you have to do is type 'hi' where as in real life, if you are a shy person, it takes you ages to go up to someone and say 'hi'. I think thats why people spend alot of time on habbo, 'cause they know they can be whoever they want to be, without (most) people judgeing!
Not long ago, habbo was my life, i would look forward to going on habbo after university, and over holidays i would spend hours on end playing it...
Then i realised one day 'why am i on a game?, i could be out with my friends!, i could be doing something fun and entertaining, instead of increasing the risk of heart attacks or epilepsy!
I go on habbo sometimes now, but only in spare time, it is addiciting, and once you stop going on habbo, you feel ALOT better about yourself, you get to know 'real' people better, the people you will see the rest of your life, instead of being isolated on a computer!

I also didn't know about anything that was happening in the real world, i shut out everything, me and my friends would talk about habbo, and the answer to most my questions then was 'i played habbo over the weekend' where-as other people were away to partys and nightclubs...
It's only once you quit habbo, you realise how much time you have lost playing it!

well said la-ur-en!

i useta be totaly addicted to habbo, 24:7, because it was my way of getting out of the house.

it also help people wid, how do i out this, "differences" socialise with other human being without being discriminated. for example, ginger people overweight people, just those little diferences that people will dig at to make someone feel bad about themselves. On habbo they will have the chance for people to see the person they realy are, not the "shell" they are trapped in.

Thats the problem, you can be whoever you want to be, you don't know who your talkin 2 do u, I no you think oh yeh I no they r my age, but u never really know, so I don't really like going on habbo.

If you stay in on habbo, your not helping to conquer your shyness, so why whinge about it, its your problem.

I used to go on habbo quite a lot, but now i just go on when im bored, i have a job to do, friends to see and other things to do.

There are some people who take it a bit seriously and also those who spend too much money on a picture.

I personally dony go on it as much as i have found out how rubbish it has gotten.

Habbo is not my life and it should be no ones life, simple minded fools will think it is their life as they are sad enough to go on it hour after hour think 'Oh oh, I shall adopt' or 'Oh oh, time to waste £100 on fake currency.

I hate people who think Habbo Staff and Hobbas are the bees knees, they are losers like everyone of us, no more famour than me! I hate people who think they are rich, don't they know that furni is worth nothing, even on Habbo as you don't even own the furniture for instance. People with alot of credits in the pocket aren't even rich, Credits are not real money, you basically wasted 10p on nothing.

Habbo Fansites are good, but, if Habbo suddenly died (hopefully it does), what will happen to lovable Habbox, or Impetous.NET?

It is proven that games like Runescape (http://www.runescape.com) are much better than Habbo as you don't have to pay money what so ever, unless you want to become a member, but other wise it is just as good without any money paid towards it.

The only good thing about Habbo Hotel is te community side of it, thats all. Runescape is mainly a game where you can cook, eat, change clothes at shops, sell things for Gold (without paying for them!!!) and make things like weapons as it is a war type game but you dont have to fight, it is just to raise your level, which Habbo dosnt have, at all! Runescape cannot be scripted or hacked at all, as we all know Habbo can, the mountain dew out break was the worse.

You dont have to have Macromedia Flash to play Runescape as it is Java which is much better to play on as there is no lag on the low graphics setting but at graphics speed settings, there is a bit but only for 2 seconds as the map loads every now and again. The Runescape Word Filter is way more powerful than the cheap Habbo one as Habbo's one gets words like shes hit which has no bads words, they have a gap in between in but as Habbo is stupid it finds one. Moderation is more better as it knows when you have advertised a website on it (any website can get you banned, this is due to hacking and scripting tools). The game is also 3D, even if the graphics arent good, it beats habbo but a long shot as Habbos look like Toddlers and Rune scape has more actions like better dancing, crying, begging and waving is more better while Habbos just have the arm cut off and moved.
my lecture is complete for now.

Kind of off topic. Whoever repped saying my signiture is advertising, that's your opinion. I asked Properclone if I could do it, and I did. So what if the font is bigger? It is a terrible reason for a rep, and I wish I had VIP so I could see who it was :P

J/K, I wouldn't do anything. We all know I am reknown in these parts *rolls eyes*, who needs rep?

I am curious to know if you rep other people who have "like my post, give me rep" in there signiture?

i only rep is i like a post, not if someone asks for it.... ps, your sig is adverting *nervos look at own sig...*

Anyways bakc on topic, i agree with gomme on rune scape being an impoved syetsm, habbo gets broing ebcuse its main aspecet is community, and i perosnly think a forum is a far btter one than habbo itslef, plus cheeper.
Runescapes more of a game, its quite fun, but i get board easy lol.

I never liked RuneScape, too many Power Gamers. I prefer a community, Roleplay, communication, not running around doing quests and killing each other. Boring!

My signiture may be advertising, but as I said, so is everyone elses. I'm just looking out for the members who have bad eyesite

If Habbo was more like Runescape and you by membership with real money they could most likely make a profit, when you are a member you by rares etc and if your not who cares, you will make credits somehow by doing childish Habbo Quests and stealing.

I love Habbo Hotel. It is a very fun game that I enjoy very much. But yet - I haven't spent a penny on it. Using real life money just to buy a piece of pixel-ated furniture is just too far. I stick to playing Fallin' Furni and inviting people to join Habbo Hotel rather than paying.

I find habbo quite boring, you get no real interaction on there. All you hear is asl, next thing you know you have 2 people sitting next to each other 'dating'. I personally think dating online is very weird, and I dont reccomend it, not that I have actually done it. I also agree with aimee because talking with freinds in actuall real life is a hell of alot better than doing it on some game.

This game is pretty addicting, but I will try not to let it take over my life. Also, they are getting pretty big, I saw habbo hotel advertisement posters in my school today. Our school has little plastic things to put pictures in, such as advertising and inspiration.

Oddly enough, although I think online dating is stupid, that's how I actually met my real life fiancé. But we were 14 and stupid then so that's okay, and besides we didn't just exchange our asls then start "dating". Also I'd like to point out that when we met up we were dead sensible and took our parents with us.

Anyway, Habbo isn't my life... but it's definitely a part of my life. If I said my Habbo friends meant nothing to me I would be telling a huge FIBS because they do mean a lot to me. On the other hand, asked to choose between a party and a night on Habbo I know what I'd choose.

I think I'd like to work for Habbo some day... I know it won't all just be fun, but a lot of it would be fun. I could be a techy geek, as I'm going to be taking a maths and computer science degree.
