today i was told i should leave school at the end of 4th year by the careers advisor due to me having a "good programming knowledge already" what you think i should do

Stay in school, do your highers and stuff, it gives you something to fall back on

Coz no employers will take you as a serious pragrammer until your older...

If a careers advisor has told your parents this then its obviously very important. This is where you think about the big bucks ;) making money at the age of 19, by 25 you'll be sorted.

Personally I dont think anyone especially on teh forum can decide your future for you.
The one person who can decide is yourself.

It would be stupid if you left school, most high paying jobs expect you to atleast have a-levels and alot require a uni degree.
I am quite shocked he advised you to leave school.

i might stay but they said there's a place in aberdeen that will take me in if i start young :| the advisor is on the phone to my mum now

Stay and do your qualifications so if you fall you will be able to go somewhere else :)
