"This trip will be awesome" said Cal as he shoved his clothes in his bag. I was helping my boyfriend pack for his football trip to Hawaii, I couldn't go though. I gave my boyfriend a special camera. I wanted some hot pictures of him in the Hawaii sun, and if there were any of his friends my mate Hannah had demanded them. She was welcome to them. I loved Cal more than anything but he was going tomorrow. For a week. At least thats what I thought then.
"I have to go, got to hoover the house. Have a fabulous time" I gave him a kiss and walked out of the door.
Later on that night I felt my phone going off. It was Cal, he had planned a wonderful dinner, I had to go round to his. I popped round thinking we were just going to go to McDonalds or something. But Cal opened the door in a tuxedo
"Cal..?" I asked, confused
"Shh! Follow me" he said and he took my hand and led me up onto his roof. The sun had just set so we were underneath the stars. He had laid out a table for two with a rose and everything! We ate, I knew tonight I loved Cal more than anything. But he was going away tomorrow.
"I'm going to miss you" Said Cal
"I will miss you too... I love you" I replied
"I love you too" He said
When I was at home I remembered what we said to each other. 'I love you' ran through my head. I wrote all over my notebook 'I love Cal, I love Cal, I love Cal' It was more true than ever. I couldn't wait for him to get back and he hadn't even gone yet...

Cal had been gone one day, school hadn't been the same without him! He always sat behind me in Geography, it was quiet. But I knew when he came back he'd make up for it. And I remembered the last night we spent together, the dinner on the rooftop, how perfect things were, everytime I feel sad because it cheered me up so much when those words of his echoed through my ears "I love you" "I love you" "I love you"
I wished I could phone him but it would cost a bomb and there was no way in HELL my mum would let me phone Hawaii! So I would have to wait until he was back.
Three days later I was practicing my sewing, i had a textiles practical to do all in one day that next day, so I needed practice. I was alone in the house so I found myself talking to myself.
"I love you Katie" "I love you too cal" "let's get married"
Then I found myself singing
I love Cal, I love Cal, Cal, Cal, Cal I love
When the phone rang. No-one ever called me on the home phone and, well, no-one ever called my parent's full stop. I picked up the phone
"Hello"
"Hi, is this Katie Skinner?"
"Yes..."
"And is Callum Coombs your boyfriend?"
"Yes..."
"I'm afraid I have bad news..."
