View Full Version : Deal Or No Deal Accident

Did anyone see last night on Deal or no Deal when one of the boxes fell off? The box fell and it came open, and revealed a red number, £15,000 I think. Seeing as the show was on air, they had to take all the boxes and reshuffle them randomly.

Anyone else see it?

The show isn't actually live, why would they need to do that, I mean yeah they'd have to shuffle it but as it isn't live they wouldn't need to wait whilst they reshuffle.I know it isn't live as a women from my town is going on the show, and she went filming on 20th March and she still isn't on it, over a month later. Did they cut out the bit where they rearranged the numbers, and then go back again to them.

The show is live. If it isn't then why do they do those phone in and email things to win money from home?

Jordan3
30-04-2006, 08:57 PM
It's partly live. Cos noticed that Noel never says the winners name? Yeah he doesnt, they film 3 shows a day, then add the winner on.

On Deal or No Deal USA they had an old woman answer the phone. And Howie dropped the phone ;P and it broke

No it's ALL live, trust me.

1. They sometimes tell the contestants not to swear.
2. They sometimes say it's live television.
3. They do the live phone /email in to win money for mhome.

No, it isn't all live. None of it is, if it was live, Noel woudl say the winners name to the contest on each show at the end of the show. Plus, the women from ym town would be on it by now, don't you think? She is called Fran by the way, so look out for her. If it were live she'd be on March 20th of this year, but she wasn't.

And, how would you know they tell the contestants not to swear, hey? And how do you know they say it's live television. Yes the competition is but the know what show is gonna be on on what day so they randomloy pick someone, it's not as if it is an actual question.

Also, you know they say that the people are picked at random, if that is so, Lucy happened to be picked on her 50th game with a box underneath the desk saying Lucy, inside it was a Deal or no Deal box with the number 50 on. How would they know it would 'randomly' pick Lucy?

Well, the woman who you know hasn't gone on yet because the people who want to play the game have to wait, and they chose one of the 22 boxes. After the show, another contestant who wants to play Deal or no Deal replaces the person who played, and the 22 people stay in a nearby hotel, until the next show, when all 22 appear in the Deal or no Deal studio.

But:

1. They wear different clothes, and they would wear the same if it was continuous recording.
2. They have to fit into the time gap (hurry sometimes).
3. They have the live phone in to win the big money thingy where they open the boxes at the end of the show.
Do I really need to go on?

It isn't live.

They do the actual show recorded about 2 weeks before, If they did it live, it would take way longer than 45 minutes.
They manage to get the phone calls going because they have a thing called staff who look over the computers that decide who wins. They choose it straight after the calls have closed.

Then whenever the box is shown, they manage to alter the show by adding that little banner.

1- Who says its one continuous recording? Maybe they work for a certain amount of time and if they arent done, they finish it a different day?
2- Explained above. They dont just keep going until theyre done.
3- Thats a different part of the show, probably live then but the whole thing isnt.

Surely they would of cut that out, it's emberassing for them ;)Not really no :s They may of wanted to do it to proove there really isn't any rigging in it. If you cut from 1 shot with say for example "Bob" having box 3, then 2 seconds later, it's now Box 17, something's up then.

Also, i doubt they'd waste time doing another show to replace the one where they messed up in.

Possibly to get more viewers. Look, we've been talking about it for pages, and Im sure other people talked about it, so its a way to attract people to watch. If something wrong can happen on television, people want to see.

Right. You may all shut up as I am the resident Deal or No Deal expert.

The show is NOT recorded live, I know this as one of my mates sat in the audience. They record 3 shows a day, Morning, Afternoon and Evening I'm told. Most shows take over an hour to record, due to little things, such as micing up the contestants. The name is overlayed onto the broadcast by Channel 4.

Right. Let's go back to Boxgate. They left that bit in to show that the show is crystal clear, otherwise audience members would be saying "Eeeh. Deal or No Deal is a right fraud, let's go tell the Sunday papers!"
