So far, the green mile is the only movie I thought was sad.
I hate the titanic, they made a romance movie out of a disaster.
Saving private Ryan is a little sad, but it's just very realistic.
Gladiator can be sad too, but it's good he died, this way he's free and it didn't turn into a typical movie where the hero lives happily ever after.

A tale of betrayal centering on two wealthy, manipulative teenage stepsiblings from Manhattan's uppercrust. It's summer break, and Kathryn has been dumped by her beau, Court Reynolds, for the innocent Cecile. Desperate to get even, Kathryn challenges Sebastian to ruin Cecile by deflowering her--thus humiliating Court by delivering Cecile to him as damaged goods. Sebastian has pretty much 'had' all of the girls in New York City up to this point, and he's gotten a bit bored of it all. Though this is too easy a conquest for him, he obliges. He sets his sights on a higher challenge--the headmaster's daughter, Annette, who recently wrote an article in 'Seventeen' Magazine about how she intends to stay pure until she marries her boyfriend. Sebastian bets Kathryn that he can seduce the chaste and pristine Annette. Kathryn believes it impossible, and agrees to the wager--and if Sebastian succeeds, Kathryn must give him a night of unbridled pleasure, something he's wanted since their parents got married.

Cruel Intentions is a great film (And not just because I have the biggest crush on Sarah Michelle Gellar)
It's a remake of Dangerous Liaisons (which has John Malkovich in = yay) Which was an adaptation of a novel :D
And yes, sad.
My Girl was a really sad movie.

Yeah it is a good film and Sarah looks different to her usual self but still as beautiful as ever;)

My Girl was quite sad when the boy [forgot his name] went to go get her necklace and there was a bee's nest and you know.

Yeah, I think that was the point, if she was blonde, she would look too much like Buffy, and it wouldn't be right.
Oh! Donnie Darko - another really sad movie.

Yeah I hate the way how he must die so that everything goes back to 'normal'. Gretchen was lovely though and he was a lucky man! That has to be one of my ultimate all time movies which I purchased for £3.99 brand new which was a great deal;) But I sort of prefered it when Jake was sort of 'low profile' as he starred in the 'not so big' movies which were awesome but he's recently starred in Jarhead which will make him get 'bigger' movies that won't be as original as films like DD.

Mainly as their made to make millions so I just see it from that point and not the point that it's real unless it happened.

LOTR:ROTK is far from sad. I don't see how it could be sad tbh because good wins and it's a great movie and most great movies aren't 'sad' as without that storyline they wouldn't be as great.

My Girl is real sad... =[

Erm, trying to think what I've cryed at... OMG, in the cinemas a few months ago Lassie was remade, and there were loads of moments in that when i cried, but at the end it was happyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy. If anyone watched it, it was sad when the mini mans dog got shot after trying to save him.... I cried for ages, and when the boy kept telling lassie she was a bad girl and that he didn't want her anymore... when he did :( they made him say it...

Shawshank redemption...YES!
And LOTR:ROTK...I'm ashamed to say I saw that in the cinema three times...and cried all three times :x
Films are supposed to make you cry/laugh/wet your pants in fear because that's what people make them for. Without an emotional attachment of some sort to a film, it's pointless.
