View Full Version : the "myspace" generation.
You know the style ; big fringes, big shirts, even bigger sunglasses, 5000 friends on the new "people-google" myspace.
You can't deny it's gradually taking over most of Britain, and most of America/Canada to be honest.
So are you part of this new trend or do you hate it?
btw; I'm not refering to being 'scene' because there are people who do 'scene' well, the myspace generation is a step up from wrongly-called 'emo' and a fake copy of 'scene'.
thank you pls.

Myspace is an inevitable effect of the wider populations access to internet media, its a Super site, or web communty, Massive off any scale previosly know. Now more popular even that google "/
Amasing since technicaly the system real sucks quite badly, and is a terrible peace of work. But dispite this, its taken off and is truly an awe inspireing phemoninum "/
You cant class myspace as a Grouping since it cates for pretty much anyone who wants to, the reason there are so many emos on it is the same reason there are so many emo's if you wonder around town "/
Its a reflectioon of the socity who use it, it doesnt then mean everyones an emo "/

Its pretty good, and its not taking over the country, its just a place to communicate, and a place for losers to make friends when they cant make them in real life:)
Some people do take it too seriously though, like get mad if someone doesnt comment them for 4 days.

No, I hate it. First of all, its coded horribly, which is overkill for most computers. Next is the fact that people deny the fact that its a dating service even after seeing their flash ads advertising them. Their founders are quite the sketchy bunch, linked to spyware, spam, income tax evasion, prison, and poor personal hygiene. And last but not least, people are forced to subject to everyone's terrible taste in music.

If you want to talk to your friends, use msn, it's quicker and pretty simple. Friend not online? You can still email them.
I had MySpace for about.. a week. Then I deleted my account because I got bored of having to sign in and navigate around just to check if anyone had sent me any:
*Inbox messages
*Profile comments
*Picture comments
*Bulletin eplies
*New bulletin messages
*Friend requests
*Advertisements
*Links to apparently "hilarious" videos of animals dying or something
*Blog entries
I'd rather just sign into msn and see if someone I like is online, it's rather easier. And what's with the bulletins on MySpace anyway? People post about 7 things an hour about how they had chips with their fish for dinner (really? How quaint!) or how they're so depressed because they couldn't afford a house of their own at 15. Once people remember that messenger programs are quicker for conversations and that emails are easy to send when people aren't online (and brilliant for mass-messaging rather than bulletins), maybe MySpace won't be so popular.
