Saying why do we need a license is basically saying why cant we just go and download music for free legaly! You are broadcasting somebody elses work. Its like at school they cant put your picture on their website unless you say yes.

SHOUTcast radio licenses cost way over £500 and I can asure you that most probably not one official Habbo radio fansite has one.

If you read the Terms and Conditions I think you will find thats not true with most Hosting companys nowadays.

licence cost just depends on what music you play and how much? have no music, you can broadcast unlicenced, have music off unsigned bands etc which you just get permissions off yourself, also free "/
Mainstream music protected by big companys like RIAA, Massivly exspencive licence even for a tiny amount of music.
