I then got a message back saying, "Well it's definatley not a rare"

3 : Releasing furni is always NEWSED before entry or give us a clue of a new furni item.

Exactly, on other occasions they always say that a new rare is coming, but on this occasion they don't mention a rare. More reason to beleive it is splash furniture.
